Will DO schools eventually build teaching hospitals?

Wait, what? The nurse preceptor, I remember that case and sylvanthus complained and they fixed it. But how can you go through without any inpatient IM? How does that even work? Was that an exaggeration?

An angry OMS IV posted this a couple of years ago. They stated it is possible to graduate from DMU without having any inpatient IM or pediatrics experience.

Peds doesn't surprise me, most schools only do 1 Peds rotation as a core, and most Peds is outpatient. IM is kind of a big part of cores though, and while a big chunk is general outpatient it's basically the only real inpatient medicine most places always have.

My school does a 3 month block of IM and most schools at least do 2 in 3rd year. I can't imagine doing all strictly outpatient for all the straight medicine training. It makes me glad my school is moving toward everyone going to a regional campus (an actual hospital, but obviously some are smaller and see less path) for their cores.
