Did Warren or Sanders state the following or was it some other Organization from decades ago?

"We ask that the government undertake the obligation above all of providing citizens with adequate opportunity for employment and earning a living. The activities of the individual must not be allowed to clash with the interests of the community, but must take place within its confines and be for the good of all. Therefore, we demand: … an end to the power of the financial interests. We demand profit sharing in big business. We demand a broad extension of care for the aged. We demand … the greatest possible consideration of small business in the purchases of national, state, and municipal governments. In order to make possible to every capable and industrious [citizen] the attainment of higher education and thus the achievement of a post of leadership, the government must provide an all-around enlargement of our entire system of public education … We demand the education at government expense of gifted children of poor parents … The government must undertake the improvement of public health – by protecting mother and child, by prohibiting child labor … by the greatest possible support for all clubs concerned with the physical education of youth. We combat the… materialistic spirit within and without us, and are convinced that a permanent recovery of our people can only proceed from within on the foundation of the common good before the individual good. "

This board is full of doctors who make 300-600k/year and who worry about running out of money and not having healthcare in retirement. What is the average Joe in America supposed to do? You can work very hard all your life as a waitress or a gardener or a cleaning lady and still end up with no savings. A social safety net is not a terrible idea and works in many countries.

A “social safety net” is quite different from “free healthcare, free education, guaranteed income, and a wealth tax”.

Killing the work ethic and independence of millions of folks, simply to garner votes and amass power, doesn’t tend to work out well for most.

There’s a reason why most of us finally picked up and got out of mommy and daddy’s house at the age of 18-20, and it’s NOT because of lack of food or healthcare or comfort. At a certain point, an ADULT feels the need to gain some freedom, make their own decisions, and provide for themselves.

Which party treats citizens like ADULTS, and which one treats them like CHILDREN/ADOLESCENTS, always subject to “bribery” with offers of “stuff” and “freebies”??

Come on guys, some of you are too smart to fall for the siren song of “security”. Please, wake up.

Everybody worries about not having enough money/resources, it's what makes humans human.

You take away that need, and you take away humanity, and you turn people slowly into dependents.

There are communities across the country that have been ravaged by the effects of single parent households. Why did that happen? Welfare.

Look, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I grew up in an era where movies focused on good vs evil and good would always win. Our better nature, the better part of human kind, would prevail over our ancient, self preservation, greedy ways for lack of a better word. But, guess what? Those fantasy stories aren't true. Even if we want it to be true it isn't. Man is lazy. He/she/It is selfish and generally uninterested in the rest of society as a whole.

The super rich are trying to do the right thing but in the wrong way. Men/Women don't need to be fed they need to learn how to fish. The super rich from 100 years ago knew this fact so they donated to Universities, hospitals, research, etc.
I applaud the Bill Gates foundation and Warren Buffet for using their money to make this world a better place.

But, the government is NOT the instrument to bring about the change we need in the USA. More handouts, higher taxes, massive debt to 120% of GDP will destroy this nation. What is needed is less government in our lives. The super rich can sponsor free tuition for minorities across the USA. Better yet, use the internet to create the best home school education possible. One A++++ teacher can teach 10,0000, 100,0000 students online. Let the rich buy the poor computers and internet access at 1/10 the cost of failing school (Grade D of Grade F) education.

Innovation and technology is the path to a better society. Hard work and a chance to succeed is what the minority communities need to bridge the gap. Socialism despite all its glitter and allure is doomed to fail. So, lean as left as you want those policies simply don't work unless your goal is to bankrupt a nation while at the same time destroying the upper middle class.
Man may need to learn to fish but he needs the water to be clean enough that the fish won’t poison him.

In case you missed it the biggest part of the Trump transcripts released was not about Biden but the server. Clinton’s server was housed in Ukraine via crowdstrike.

I believe the threat from global warming is way overblown. The actual planet is warming very slowly and technology will solve the problem before 2100 when the world really is at risk.

At this time, the cost to abandon fossil fuel is way too high and the benefits minuscule because over 1 billion people need fossil fuel for basic needs.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t do anything at all but the Warren plan costs too much and delivers too little. We need 20-30 more years for the technology to develop so fossil fuels can truly be eliminated.

The liberals will likely blast me for this post but that’s my opinion and unlikely to be changed by the pseudo science of the world ending in 10 years. If the world ends soon it is because we blow it up (literally ) with a man made nuclear disaster.

Even the Israelis and Palestinians agree on this issue.

Really? That’s as plausible as the argument by some social scientists that abortion and the subsequent reduction in ”unwantedness” is responsible for recent declining crime rates.

lol thats a joke....he watered down the rules the democrats wanted. Republicans are only a party for the rich, much richer than anesthesiologists.

Was it a joke when Obama wanted to do the same thing?

The fact of the matter is, even when Trump does good things, the media both discredits it and quickly puts out of the front page. The article I read on the topic had one paragraph about the fact that it benefited over 1 million lower middle class workers, then 3 paragraphs criticizing the change, with one of my favorite points being "well Obama wanted to increase it more".

Hell, just look at the photos they choose of Trump to go along with ANY story about him.

Everyone is so focused on "Russian collusion".. Maybe we should look into collusion with our own media..

Warren vs Trump. The Socialist vs the Idiot. But, the idiot doesn’t want to ruin the USA.

Warren’s policies are going to wreck the economy and hurt the working middle class the most. The rich will still be rich the upper middle class will pay a lot more in taxes and the poor will get a few more crumbs from the govt. The trillion dollar Green Deal won’t pass Congress nor will the wealth tax.
The stock market will correct 5-7 percent once Warren takes the lead over trump in early 2020. GDP is expected to be low or negative under her administration

And I would be willing to bet we already have the information in the server and Trump knows exactly what is on it and what is hidden in the 33k deleted emails. The Trump admin has the whole thing scripted to peak right before the presidential election and it is going to make the DNC or anyone associated look much worse the they do already.

Yah right. And I am sure they also know where Jimmy Hoffa is buried and will release that.

When the press asked Trump yesterday if he thought Ukraine had the 33k deleted emails on the server he responded yes. How do you Inject classified material into the public domain...look back over what happened this past week and pay attention in a non bias way through October and watch and learn how this plays out.

Okay help me interpret. English is my 2nd language.

What questions would you want answered in his statement. By asking those questions it leads you to the information he wants everyone to know.

Who is they?
Who is the rich guy?
What started in Ukraine?
Why does Ukraine have the server?
What does crowd strike have to do with it?
It all ended with Mueller?

So the whole Russian collusion hoax started in Ukraine (who started it?)and maybe the server and crowd strike will tell us the answer and maybe was funded by some rich guy that is Ukrainian...obviously all speculation...but again I bet over the next several months a similar story to my speculation above plays out

"There should be no billionaires," Sanders tweeted to announce his plan. "We are going to tax their extreme wealth and invest in working people."

Tell me that isn't CONFISCATION of personal wealth for the good of the common man. Is this the USA? I agree taxes may need to be raised but a wealth tax is confiscation because that money has already been earned with taxes paid.

The persistent rise in inequality has become a central topic in the 2020 presidential race, with candidates like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren calling for a wealth tax. This week, Sanders announced his plan for a wealth tax as high as 8% on the ultrawealthy, which would raise $4.35 trillion over a decade, according to analysis by economists who consulted with the Warren and Sanders campaigns.

The liberal web sites are already clamoring for massive tax increases on top 5% of earners. Wealth Tax may need to "trickle down" to those whose total assets are much less than $16 million.

I see the solution as far worse than the problem. Sure, taxes need to be raised but that is to pay our existing safety nets and current debt. Massive tax increases will be needed to fund the Warren/Sanders plan on a scale we haven't seen in our lifetime.

Are you nuts? Better loosen that tinfoil hat.

So let’s start with some inconvenient facts about links between Russia and Trump. There were countless contacts between Russia and Trump. Trump proposed making and made drastic changes to US policy with regards to Russia. He regularly fellates Putin. Trump lied about having plans for a real estate deal in Moscow. Trump’s son and others met with Russian surrogates. The idea that this started with some BS in Kiev on a server is insane. You have been reading to much RT and Zerohedge.

Of course all these billionaires hold all their wealth in easily taxable US dollar bills

This can’t be overstated. Billionaires and mega corporations will never pay this high taxes that the Democrats want to redistribute. They will always find a means to diversify their funds into a manner that allows them to go untouched.

It’s true the wealthy creative class leans democratic. They’re not doing so out of concern about their own financial security but because of their concern for larger problems. Most of the wealthiest have already pledged to give away most of their money. Ever ask yourself why these people who have built multigenerational fortunes, are often from humble backgrounds, and are not beholden to anyone tend to lean democratic?

I don’t know if we have any data to suggest they lean one way or the other. The wealthy creative class

I tried to put it into real terms for my daughter and her boyfriend, unmarried and living in an apartment.. I told them that if our incomes were equal, I would pay significantly less taxes because of my mortgage and kids still living at home. They feel it’s fair that I can use those tax breaks while continuing to vehemently argue that corporate tax breaks were unfair.

I believe they call that cognitive dissonance?

The college educated young are ripe for this kind of thought. It’s just a natural extension of how they already live on your dime going to school. The world is a nasty place so I want someone to take care of me the whole way through and I want I paid for by corporations.

I only edited my post because the portion of tax breaks didn’t mesh with the discussion of diversification..

The whole wealth redistribution discussion came from me learning that they’re actually contributing to the Yang campaign, which led me into looking into his platform and this whole “UBI/divedend” idea which he’ll fund by “closing all corporate loopholes” so that the big evil businesses would “start paying taxes”. No amount of discussion could convince them of the absurdity of this idea from top to bottom. As a side note, I repeatedly tried to move the conversation in different directions (hey let’s discuss some of his other platform ideas) and they could not come away form the discussion of money.

They’re at that age when most of us briefly delve into the world of liberalism, I just hate to hear they’re tossing their money away in campaign contributions..

I'm well aware the "wealth tax" will fail. But, Warren needs to get trillions from someone and I am pretty sure she knows where the real money is located. As usual, those working a ton of hours or two jobs or dual incomes will be the source of the money. Sure, "greedy corporations" will have to kick in a few dollars but Warren can't risk destroying the economy. She needs the goose to keep laying those golden eggs for her multi-trillion dollar dream of a new world order.

Bezos and Zuck will be the big contributors to her campaign. They know her left leaning super socialist agenda won't touch them.

I take it at this point Biden is pretty much DOA now with these new transcripts.

Looks like it’s gonna be Warren vs Trump in 2020.

Save up! Or don’t she’ll just take it away.

I just think it’s a fallacy. Sure he knows where it’s at, but I doubt he can touch it without EXTREME changes to federal law with wide reaching implications that even an all democratic congress wouldn’t support..

The goose is theoretical at best, just real enough to fuel the fantasy, but it doesn’t hold up to scrutiny..

“Hunter Biden’s employment means he will be working as a director and top lawyer for a Ukrainian energy company during the period when his father and others in the Obama administration attempt to influence the policies of Ukraine’s new government, especially on energy issues,” the AP wrote.
In December 2015, the Wall Street Journal reported that Mykola Zlochevsky, who ran Burisma, was under investigation by Ukrainian and British authorities for “alleged criminal wrongdoing,” and it quoted anti-corruption advocates in Ukraine who were concerned that Zlochevsky would be protected from prosecution because of Hunter Biden’s role with Burisma.
“If an investigator sees the son of the vice president of the United States is part of the management of a company … that investigator will be uncomfortable pushing the case forward,” Daria Kaleniuk, executive director of Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Action Center, or AntAC, told the Wall Street Journal.

Good conversation. Your above statement won’t age well.

So this bombshell will come when? October 2020 you say?

What will your excuse be when nothing happens? The Deep State?

According to the Times, the whistleblower is “a CIA officer detailed to the White House,” and, according to Paul Sperry, former D.C. bureau chief for Investor’s Business Daily, rumors are “swirling” that the whistleblower was one of former CIA Director and current NBC analyst John Brennan’s “old CIA humps detailed over to — planted inside — the White House to spy on Trump and help thwart the investigation of #Spygate which also involves Obama DOS/FBI/CIA skullduggery in Ukraine.”

Oh ok. So now this all goes back to the Ukraine being the hub of all evil. My god the right wing is really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

Let me just point something out. If Trump and his aides felt this phone call was so benign why hide it on a server system typically reserved for the highest level of secure information? Oh, wait, must be to protect it from the Deep State.

Previous transcripts with the leaders of Australia and Mexico were illegally leaked.

It hasn't even been proven the transcripts were moved to a different server anyway, it's all hearsay.

I personally am tired of arguing.

There is so much well-documented information out there that only a... ?***** can't see. If 8,000+ documented lies and previous godfather-like behavior are not enough, the cult's brainwash may be even irreversible (the authoritarian brain is a stupid one, as we have learned from the bolshevik proletariat, for example). I am not trying to insult anybody, just suggesting a serious look at oneself, one's values and one's (ir)rational thinking process.

Give me a break.

The Democrats are planning on eliminating free speech, seizing property of the wealthy, confiscating self defense weapons, restricting religious expression and forcing creative expression, etc.

And now you're saying the one to worry about is Trump because he's trying to preserve the Bill of Rights?

That's rich.

You think the president is trying to preserve the Bill of Rights? Which part? The first amendment? I think not. Maybe the second. The third has never been tested in court. Very certainly not the fourth, fifth, sixth, or eighth amendments, based upon his recent rants concerning the ultimate fate of “spies,” and his bizarre rallying cry of “lock her up.” The seventh may be relevant to him, as I assume he’d brake for a penny.

As for the ninth and tenth? Well, apart from the president’s egomaniacal idiocy, I would wager that these are the two principle reasons George Will left the Republican Party. The president is not a republican, at least not what they used to be. He’s certainly not a conservative. He’s a demagogue; and I mean this according to the strictest definition of the term.

I will answer you only once, so you can stop answering me: you have been on my ignore list for months.

Trump is trying to preserve mostly one thing: Trump. It takes a good amount of naivete and altruism for one to put the life and interests of many before the life and interests of one. He just doesn't fit the psychological profile (narcissistic lying conman).

Also, there is no "Democrats" and "Republicans", "us" and "them", not even in the Congress. Members of Congress are elected individually, and they know they have to respond to their electorate at home. The American electorate has 15-20% *****s both on the left and the right, who make a lot of noise based on whatever cult they belong to; the rest are pretty reasonable people who should be able to think for themselves when they really try. That's why I invite to introspection and doubt about one's favorite brand of brainwash and reality. It helps to at least occasionally listen to the other side.

And an intelligent person should be able to recognize his/her own social desirability bias, which has become an important reason for sticking with the right or left. Drop your party registration and become an independent.

You defend Trump like he’s the messiah and can do no wrong.

While I have major problems with the liberal left candidates being pushed, Trump has incredibly repugnant qualities.

I can understand why someone might support him begrudgingly and overlook his personality disorder based on policy... I cannot understand why someone might actually think he’s an admirable person or president.

At this point I think we’d be infinitely better off with a person off the street picked randomly from the adult US population then either Trump or the dem candidates.... say what you may but Trump is at the very least part of the swamp.

Most of my GOP friends don't like TRUMP. We recognize him for the narcissistic person he is. Trump cares most about Trump. But, we inside the GOP must look at policy as well. The choice between Warren and Trump is clear to anyone who leans even a little bit right of center. Heck, I'm not even sure the independents who lean a touch left will vote for Warren.

Trump is a populist. He will say whatever he needs to say to get elected. The most important thing he has done for me is to keep the SCOTUS conservative. That alone is enough to secure my vote.

I recognize my biases particularly my desire to maintain the US Constitution as it exists now not how some liberal judges think it ought to be.

I want clean water and air. I respect the environment and think we should do things to keep it clean and safe. I lean left of Trump on these issues but still far right of Warren/Sanders New Green Deal. Most likely, I fall in the middle where most people are on this issue. Reasonable policy changes that won't bankrupt our nation.

Where is Howard Schultz when the Democrats need him the most? By far, the most reasonable and smartest of the Dems I heard at those Town Hall discussions.
