Can't expect it to work for everything... I wonder if you could import a large list, maybe a medical dictionary? 🙂
Well there's no convenient way to do it, but you can import a huge list of words.
Steps:
1.) Find a list of words that you want to add. Make sure that each word is on a separate line.
2.) Open up list in Notepad (or copy into notepad).
3.) "Save as..." , select "All Files", select the encoding as "Unicode", save as "insert_dictionary_name.DIC"
3.)*optional* Save into or move previous file into --> "C:\Users\(YourUsername)\AppData\Roming\Microsoft\UProof"
*Note you will have to turn on the ability to see hidden files and folders to do this.
- while in a folder- tools, folder options, check "show hidden files, folders, and drives".
4.) Open up Word and go to custom dictionaries and select "add" and you should see your word list in the folder (or browse to find it, if you decided not to save it in the file path above)
You don't actually have to move the file into the same folder as the other dictionaries (Step 3), but it does help keep everything organized.
