Alas, if you're reading this you're probably not affected or have found a solution to the problem.

Summary: If you're running Windows XP and Zone Alarm Firewall, a new Windows Security Update will cut your internet access when you reboot after installing it.

As many of you are working on electronic apps, here's the fix.

(a short term solution is to do a full system restore, but this will only get you back online until the system updates again)

ugh zone alarm is worse than any virus could try to be

everytime i uninstalled the overbearing and obnoxiously resource hogging program i would lose the ability to connect to the internet and it took a while to fix

what the hell!!!

this happened to me last night. i updated my computer and turned it off (shut down) this morning i turned it on and no internet. i was so pissed and then decided to do a system restore and now it works.

thanks a lot depakote

An easy solution to this is to turn Automatic Updates off.
