Winter Semester while Waitlisted

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Do dental schools put a heavy emphasis on your fall semester if you're waitlisted? I received a 3.7 gpa in fall of 2018 with 18 credits and 3.8 gpa in winter of 2019 with 18 credits (both semesters included harder courses). This semester, I'm taking 15 credits (6 classes including labs) which might result in a 3.5ish gpa (3 A's with 9 credits/3 B's with 6 credits). Will this hurt me dramatically (fell off a bit because of the whole process with applying and interviewing at different schools out of state, focused less at school)? I will also only be taking one class in the winter as it's a prerequisite for one of the schools I'm waitlisted at (not sure if this is a factor because I receive my bachelors degree this fall semester). Thank you for any advice!

I'm not trying to seem like I'm overly confident about my situation in which I'll get in, nor do I want people thinking I'm acting selfish, I'm just really paranoid.

As long as you don't literally fail the class, you'll be fine. Usually schools want you to pass prereqs with "satisfactory" grades, which I'm assuming is C or higher. I would call the school and ask what their minimum acceptable prereq grade is.

If you want to get off the waitlist, consider drafting a letter of intent or something similar to demonstrate continued interest in the program. If you publish a paper or do some additional volunteering, I would mention that in the letter too. Give them some updates essentially. And when your transcript updates with your fall semester grades, make sure to send it to that school

I will take any criticism. I just want to know what else I can possibly do at this point to get off the waitlist.
I wonder if you have to update the current coursework and the grades with the school ?

no lol Im serious I got wait listed at my top school also, so Idk if its required to update the coursework that Im taking this semster with grades.
Oh yea, you definitely have to right when you finish. There's no reason not to update your coursework grades because it'll have them suspicious. If you were waitlisted and are taking classes, I can't see them taking me off the waitlist if I'm not showing them my continued effort in receiving good grades. That doesn't apply to every dental school but I feel like my instate school that waitlisted me takes a look at the grades before making a decision to accept you off the waitlist.
