When we calculate GPA when we apply to dental school, do they use +/- or do they just use the straight up A or B... or C or D. Or do they use both. If they use both, is one looked at as more important than the other?

i believe you are asked to enter both...as for which is more important, i don't know...i would run a search b/c this has been asked before

It depends on how your transcript shows the grades. If it shows +/-s, then they will be calculated into the AADSAS GPA. also, + add 0.33 - subtracts 0.33 (including A+s). It also has AB options for 3.5... depends on how your schools grades. Keep in mind though that the GPA that your school reports may be quite a bit different than the way AADSAS calculates it.

UCLA 2012! So you've finally decided!

Anyways, I would just like to add to the OP that if your school do not use the +/- system, then your AADSAS GPA with and without +/- should be the same.

I know on Minnesota's website they specificially say that they work WITHOUT the +/-'s. I assume it depends on the school, however.
