Say I apply this cycle but withdrew later on, before the designated period of when you are considered an reapplicant...and i apply the next cycle..i know that I am considered an reapplicant to the school i applied before but the schools i apply to in the following cycle know that I have applied and withdrew from amcas from the previous cycle?

anyone know? thanks
i called amcas but unfortunately the lady did not help very much!

Some schools have the question "Have you ever previously applied to medical school?" on their secondary. Otherwise, they may or may not find out (don't know whether that information is specifically supplie by AAMC).

Are you at a disadvantage if you're a reapplicant?

I don't believe you would be a re-applicant at the other schools because you never applied to them. Technically, you didn't even apply to that one school you had listed on your AMCAS.

You'll hear varying things, but overall yes. Usually schools put you in a reapplicant pile and have a bit higher standards with you the second time around.
