If I have been working for the family business but received no paychecks because the work was in exchange for rent/food/living costs. Should i write this down in the work section of my application or do I put it under extra curriculars or just leave this out all-together? I'm worried and I don't want this to become an issue with the schools I'm applying or the taxman.

Thanks for any help!

Lol schools don't care about taxes involved with work. List it as a job but be clear it was "labor of love."

Lol. We aren't dealing with the IRS. This is the admissions committee. Just be truthful and don't exaggerate. This not filling taxes issue is only going to effect you if you claim you worked said hours (w/o filing taxes) if and when you apply for financial aid.
