Hey, planning to apply this cycle and I'm working through this blind. I don't know who to ask and the dentists I work with applied so long ago that they don't remember much.

A month after I turned 17 I've been working part time continuously with no break/jump between each job to financially support myself and pay for tuition out of pocket, which has very obviously affected my ability to remain 100% focused in school all the time. The only problem is that all my jobs (even my current one at a dental office) were off the books so I didn't report any income. I'm currently working on filling out my personal information for the application but there is a section asking if I had "paid employment prior to age 18". I'm not sure if I should put in yes or lie and say no because I technically (legally anyways) didn't have a job so I wouldn't have any proof outside of "yeah i did it plz take my word for it" even if they did ask.

What should I do?

Welcome to the forums.

That's an interesting question. If you get injured while working, who pays the medical bills? I suppose if you didn't fill out a W2 and didn't get any 1099's (I think that's the right form), and you didn't have to report income on your taxes... ask the AADSAS help desk.

Honestly, that might be my best bet. Thanks!
Also regarding getting injured while working, your question made me realize that I never considered that. I just needed the money real bad I didn't care lol 😭
