Should I add a CPR/AED certification under licenses or is it better to just leave that section blank?

For the experience section, do the ones we star appear first, or is it similar to the pdf where they just have an asterisk next to them? I am wondering because the order of my experiences is extremely random and I am not sure how I can change the order.

It will show the 6 starred ones first, but I don’t think you can place them in a specific order
 
How is the manual dexterity question supposed to be formatted. Can it be done like this for example:

Coloring: Using an advanced coloring book with….

Hockey: puck handling and using the stick….

Dental club: painting, bead making, ….

Obviously right more about each but in that format?

Hello,
I will be applying as a Canadian student so does obtaining a DENTal Personal Identifier Number apply to me? If so, how can I go about getting this number despite not doing the American DAT. I have only done the Canadian DAT.

I believe you just sign up to create a Dentpin and use that to open an AADSAS application account. That’s all it’s used for for Canadian students. You will need to have your cDAT scores sent to schools

I took the dat today and these were my scores.
PAT 19
QR 14.......
RC 23
Bio 21
GC 19
OC 20
TS 20
AA 19

My cgpa is 3.5 and sgpa is 3.35. As you can see my score on QR is horrible and I plan on retaking. My question is should I apply early with these scores and tell the schools I will be retaking? Would telling them about the retake cause schools to look over my app or would they still read it? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

In the achievements section, can we include awards from academic competitions that I did in high school? The certificate comes from third-party academic organizations and its just that I did it in high school.

The program I am doing is very personalized. It can give me more options than the smp's I applied to. It allows me to have a mentor who is a dentist and do a capstone project alongside them giving me experience in dentistry and while taking a lot of high rigor courses. If there was not the personalized mentor that is a dentist then I would have gone with a smp.

Should I list an award given by my college when I was still in high school (it's an award for top admitted students)?

From how long ago should I add experiences? For example I have a lot of relevant medical field as well as special olympics volunteer hours, but they were from 2017 and 2018. Also should I add work experience that would be relevant to certain school's mission fit even if it is not dental or even science/medical related?

you can add anything after you graduated high school
yes, add all work experience...

Should I put courses I plan to take in the transcript entry (they are not in my actual transcript)? If not, do I say "I am not matching any courses to this prerequisite" for the schools requiring the course? Thanks!

yes....put them as "Planned"

And when matching them to the prerequisites put in those planned courses. If you don't have courses (or planned courses) to match prereqs you tossing money away.
 
If I were to submit with unofficial DAT scores is there anything I have to do when they become official or they will automatically upload to the application and my application will be verified.

if you selected schools when you applied for the dat, the scores will be sent to those schools when verified...

How do we format the personal statement? How do we separate paragraphs? Do reindent or just put a space between each paragraph or keep it as one giant essay? Thanks!

your app is not considered complete until you have everything submitted
aadsas will begin the process of verification of your entered grades and transcripts and will send to schools when they are done, but the schools will not consider you until your file is complete

Sounds good it’s been two weeks since DAT. That’s why asking because i haven’t received email that it’s official yet

the adea needs to verify your scores first, then sends it to aadsas

Hi! I applied last year, but I applied extremely late, basically the last day to LSU dental school. (This was not my intention, but it just ended up being that way.) That is really my only option for dental school. I only just recently got the notification that I was rejected, about 2 weeks ago? (This was a mass rejection email because my friends who applied late last year also received it.) I am choosing to reuse my committee letter, but what do you guys think about that? I know it's bad to reuse, but I wouldn't have used it last year if I knew I was going to apply so late, but I don't feel that my application was "fully reviewed" since all of the interviews were sent out basically by the time I submitted. I also know LSU dental school prefers committee letters over anything? I am also getting a new one from the periodontist that I work for, and maybe another one.

I have worked for my sister in law at her wedding cake studio/bakery since high school, and I was wondering if she could possibly write me a letter of recommendation. That is the only job that I have worked besides my current one that I am already getting a letter from. When I first worked there, she was not my sister-in-law and I barely knew her, so I was wondering if she still counts technically as a relative.

Ask your prehealth committee. It shouldn't be a problem, but you may need them to update it.

I had started my top 6 experiences and had submitted my application. Afterwards I realized that only 3 of them were selected and I (probably stupidly) tried to see if I could star more experiences and ended up starting 3 I didn’t really want to. I am just wondering how much this will affect my application as I really focused on talking about other experiences (that are now not starred) at various points of my application. I appreciate if anybody could help alleviate my “over worrying-ness”

Thank you for the reply!! I’m wondering if it looks bad to reuse it even thought it (hopefully) hasn’t been reviewed thoroughly, my pre-health committee has already agreed to resend it. What do you think?

That's a little bit out of your control, but usually the committee letter will be updated.

just to confirm- I interviewed but wasn't accepted to MWU-ill last cycle. Do I have increased chances of being accepted by them by applying again? Since last cycle, I've finished my masters and obtained 100+ hours of dental exp and 100+ hours of community service.

For the achievements section, can we upload a pdf file of a certificate of completion? For example, I completed a small course offered by my province's dental organization as a part of my dental assisting training when I worked at a dental office-- the course mostly focused on infection control in the dental office and offered solid training and so I was wondering if there was a way to upload that as one of my achievements however I can't seem to find the right category to put it under.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could integrate that achievement, specifically upload the certificate to the AADSAS website?

Any kind of help or guidance will be very appreciated. I'm an international student and I graduated with BS in biology in May 2024. My DAT is scheduled for July 29. My GPA is 3.6 science 3.5. I got a C- for biochem 3 credit lecture in my last semester and A for 1 credit lab. I have heard a lot of schools don't care about biochem lab, so I assume I would have to retake it. I want to retake it asap at a community college where the course is only offered online. This is the only cc I found who offers bichem during the summer, so I could have my grade by August, when I will submit my application. My main concern is if schools will consider an online retake at a cc as a valid retake. I have no other Cs for any classes. Has anyone been in a situation like that. What are my chances of getting in this cycle, what is the best thing to do at this point?
