Buffalo emailed me letting me know my app is incomplete b/c I haven't paid the supplemental + my DAT and transcripts haven't been verified... and they won't send me the link to pay the supplemental fee until my stuff is verified!!!! 🙄
I submitted Saturday 7/27, transcripts marked as Arrived in AADSAS. Took DAT 7/8, so today marks 3 weeks since my testing day. Is there any way I could check in with someone or try to expedite the verification process?? Phone numbers to call/emails to contact?? or am I just at the mercy of the ADA... thanks

you submitted saturday, you will be verified eventually, they may have a backlog of people that have already applied in the past 2 months
trust the process...

I'm not sure how adcoms will use the new (to me) academic update window in August. So I will anticipate how it would affect how I would have done things.

My conjecture on this: it would help applicants with GPA calculations if they submitted their applications in May without their spring grades entered and those with early summer courses listed as planned. It shouldn't take much time, but the GPAs must be recalculated. I make it sound like a big deal, but we live with computers and spreadsheets... I don't think this would cause a big delay on the AADSAS side.

However, on the school side, it's possible your application was placed on hold until prerequisite grades come in. Some schools may value more recent courses (last 30-60 credit hour GPA), which would likely need to be updated. If it were me, that wouldn't take a lot of time.

If your application has already been screened, any GPA adjustment may make a marginal difference since grades only point to academic preparation, not mission fit. I'm sure many programs would be fine screening your application without your academic update in the same way some may proceed with reviewing your application without a retake DAT score (once you report it).

What I would advice: if you got your academic update completed, send an email to the admissions team. You would do the same with an academic update in February.
 
is there anyone having a trouble making the payment for supplemental application for Howard University college of dentistry, I only have the option to pick international doctor of dental surgery for applicant type? if anyone is having the same issue or willing to help me do it please do 🙂
 
I'm currently taking a biology class this summer and the professor and I have a really good relationship (he asked me if I wanted to work in his research lab in the fall and asked if I wanted a letter of recommendation). However, I already submitted my apps with the committee letter from my university, and I was wondering if it would be possible to add one more recommender?

My committee letters are all strong but only one of them is from a science professor. I have four people: my advisor, the dentist I worked for, my community service supervisor, and my cellular biology professor. I know that some schools really prefer for you to have two science professors as a recommender, and I was hoping that having this extra letter of recommendation would help round up my recommendation. Sorry if this is a silly question.
 
I dont think you can add an additional letter to your application after submission, but you can certainly try. Otherwise you may be able to email schools and ask if they accept additional letters and where your recommender could send the letter to. But this would be for individual schools.

Have you used all 4 AADSAS slots? If you have a spot left, I think you can add. However, your committee letter should already satisfy most schools' requirements, and adding one more letter may not help you in their processes. You can always ask the schools.

The day after I made my initial post, my DAT scores and transcripts were verified by AADSAS + several schools placed me under official review. Ur so right... Love and peace on Planet Earth
 
I applied on 7/20, but I think my verification was not gone through because I was missing one transcript for my physics class. The transcript was finally delivered today, but my application status says Received. What else do I have to do on my end? I inputted my transcript myself. I am not sure what to do to get my application verified and sent to schools at this point.
 
Hi, I have a quick question about filling out the Experiences category of the application: basically, I am wondering if I can list one of my experiences that has relevance to healthcare but its also my current workplace and one of LOR providers. I feel there are many duties I can write out that may have not been mentioned by my referee. Is it ok to have that overlap, even when it comes to giving the same contact info under the "supervisor" section.

I asked this previously, but now need more clarification. I took my DAT a couple weeks ago, and got an email two days ago saying my score was posted. I submitted my application before my DAT, in June. Does this mean it will take another week or two for the schools I applied to receive my score?

Think it takes a couple days. Shouldn’t be longer than that.

Hey everyone! What is considered a good CASPER score? Do schools want 4th quartile or is 3rd quartile also considered good?
 
Do I need to order a transcript for each school I apply to? OR do I just send one copy to the aadsas app? Sorry this might be a stupid question

I've completed all my supplemental fees and such back in June. Wasn't sure if different schools use different wordings or if it meant the same thing. Just scared if something didn't process right and I would have to contact schools on this.

Sadly, I don't think all schools use the same statuses identically. The important part is that the office received your application and is processing it.
 
Hello there,

I was wondering if it is sufficient to add either the email or phone number of my Supervisor under the Experiences section of the application-- this contact is also one of my referees BTW. Or, is it necessary to include both an email as well as a number?

Thanks! This may seem like a weird thing to ask but how can we add an extension for a work number for the supervisor's contact? it doesn't accept it saying it's an 'invalid number' but there is no additional box to add an extension if we need to. Do you have any suggestions?
 
I feel like I made a big mistake... I didnt realize that the academic update period opened today and accidentally clicked update my application on the home page (looks like a popup) without making any changes. Is this a big deal? Will schools look negatively on this. Is there any way to rescind the update as I did not change anything on my application?

I dont think so because I went in to try to update my coursework to see if the popup to update application reappeared and it did so I assume I can resubmit once my grades are finalized end of dec

Does anyone know if taking a Clep exam for American Government is going to hurt my application to dental schools?
All my prereqs and important classes are from a 4-year institution but this one, I just wanted to get it out of my way to also satisfy the civics literacy exam at my school.

This is the only class that I am planning to take the CLEP for but I'm scared that they wouldn't accept any P/F credits

American government is not a predental prerequisite. You should be good.
 
If I took an online, non-credit course related to dentistry, through an accredited institution, where would I put the certificate on ADSAAS? It gives the options of Awards, Honors, or Scholarship. The only category I could imagine it would fit would be Awards, except its not a trophy or medal (or something of the sort, as noted on the Help Page). It is a certificate for course completion.

For reference I did put down the course and its description in the Experiences section, but I'd like to attach the certificate to my app if possible.

To my knowledge you can’t add the certificate anywhere unless it’s one of the few options they have available.
 
For applying, is dropping below 15 credits/semester hours bad in the context of applying to top schools like UCLA, UCSF, ivies, etc.?

For context, at my school 12 credits/semester hours is considered full-time. I am thinking of taking a lighter load this semester since this is my last semester before applying, and I need to get my materials ready and take the DAT. Would it be okay if I drop a science class and replace it (only taking two instead of three) and take only 13 credits instead of the 14/15 I was originally planning to take? I would appreciate anyone with experience on admissions committees to give me some insight. I feel I can also maintain my GPA better and do more outside of classes if I take only 13.

Hey guys, I sent a letter of intent to my preferred school, where I am currently waitlisted. I sent this about 2 weeks ago.

I also sent letters of continued interested to most of my schools at the end of November. However, I haven’t heard about any interview invites from these schools. Should I send another letter of continued interest to these schools again?
