if we choose to do an academic update on aadsas, does anyone know if this will delay review by the schools? for example, i submitted in june, but if i submit the academic update in august, will this delay adcoms to review my application with the rest of the august applicants instead of with the june applicants? thanks.

Buffalo emailed me letting me know my app is incomplete b/c I haven't paid the supplemental + my DAT and transcripts haven't been verified... and they won't send me the link to pay the supplemental fee until my stuff is verified!!!!
I submitted Saturday 7/27, transcripts marked as Arrived in AADSAS. Took DAT 7/8, so today marks 3 weeks since my testing day. Is there any way I could check in with someone or try to expedite the verification process?? Phone numbers to call/emails to contact?? or am I just at the mercy of the ADA... thanks

you submitted saturday, you will be verified eventually, they may have a backlog of people that have already applied in the past 2 months
trust the process...

I'm not sure how adcoms will use the new (to me) academic update window in August. So I will anticipate how it would affect how I would have done things.

My conjecture on this: it would help applicants with GPA calculations if they submitted their applications in May without their spring grades entered and those with early summer courses listed as planned. It shouldn't take much time, but the GPAs must be recalculated. I make it sound like a big deal, but we live with computers and spreadsheets... I don't think this would cause a big delay on the AADSAS side.

However, on the school side, it's possible your application was placed on hold until prerequisite grades come in. Some schools may value more recent courses (last 30-60 credit hour GPA), which would likely need to be updated. If it were me, that wouldn't take a lot of time.

If your application has already been screened, any GPA adjustment may make a marginal difference since grades only point to academic preparation, not mission fit. I'm sure many programs would be fine screening your application without your academic update in the same way some may proceed with reviewing your application without a retake DAT score (once you report it).

What I would advice: if you got your academic update completed, send an email to the admissions team. You would do the same with an academic update in February.

I'm currently taking a biology class this summer and the professor and I have a really good relationship (he asked me if I wanted to work in his research lab in the fall and asked if I wanted a letter of recommendation). However, I already submitted my apps with the committee letter from my university, and I was wondering if it would be possible to add one more recommender?

My committee letters are all strong but only one of them is from a science professor. I have four people: my advisor, the dentist I worked for, my community service supervisor, and my cellular biology professor. I know that some schools really prefer for you to have two science professors as a recommender, and I was hoping that having this extra letter of recommendation would help round up my recommendation. Sorry if this is a silly question.

I dont think you can add an additional letter to your application after submission, but you can certainly try. Otherwise you may be able to email schools and ask if they accept additional letters and where your recommender could send the letter to. But this would be for individual schools.

Have you used all 4 AADSAS slots? If you have a spot left, I think you can add. However, your committee letter should already satisfy most schools' requirements, and adding one more letter may not help you in their processes. You can always ask the schools.

The day after I made my initial post, my DAT scores and transcripts were verified by AADSAS + several schools placed me under official review. Ur so right... Love and peace on Planet Earth

I applied on 7/20, but I think my verification was not gone through because I was missing one transcript for my physics class. The transcript was finally delivered today, but my application status says Received. What else do I have to do on my end? I inputted my transcript myself. I am not sure what to do to get my application verified and sent to schools at this point.

Hi, I have a quick question about filling out the Experiences category of the application: basically, I am wondering if I can list one of my experiences that has relevance to healthcare but its also my current workplace and one of LOR providers. I feel there are many duties I can write out that may have not been mentioned by my referee. Is it ok to have that overlap, even when it comes to giving the same contact info under the "supervisor" section.

Think it takes a couple days. Shouldn’t be longer than that.

Sadly, I don't think all schools use the same statuses identically. The important part is that the office received your application and is processing it.
