I just got offered a full time job at a hospital...the pay however is pretty crappy and so are the hours.. 6:30am-3:30pm....i'm wondering if i should accept the job...plus how did yall manage to interview and work at the same time... being a new hire will they be upset/ mad if i had to take off work to travel? i have to meet with the recruiter so i can ask her questions about benefits (which i really don't need), vacation time, and such.... any suggestions or past experience will be appreciated.
thanks!

Crappy hours + low pay? Could a job be possibly any worse than that? Take the job only if you need the money (although there are better paying jobs out there that you could get). I'm sure they will be mad at you if you have to take off from work to interview (but that's how it goes). You should tell them ahead of time that you will be interviewing and you may have to request days off.

I would say you are ok. Unless they have a very strict policy on leave, I would ask them before you accept. I work part-time for a dental office and I'm in the same situation 9 hr day for practically minimum wage. I let them know ahead of time that I'm in the application process and need to take days off of work. I guess the difference is that I'm part time and at a much smaller office. Sometimes I would rather be doing something alittle more beneficial with my time without the pay, say volunteering at a dental clinic where I would get to work in the mouth instead of doing busy work 95% of the time. It's a judgement call that you have to make for yourself.

Just ask, and good luck to you!

You should also look into the paid time off (PTO) benefits at the hospital. Some places won't let you dip into your PTO until you are there for a few months. At the hospital that I work at, I was able to take a whole week off the same month that I started, and was able to take all of the time off that I needed for my interviews. Just tell them you situation and they should be flexible.
