Worried about apps, need advice

Hey guys,

I wanted some advice on how I should proceed with regards to my current situation.

I am scheduled to take my DAT on June 19th but I really want to postpone it because I feel like I need to prepare myself more, especially using more resources such as Destroyer and Chad's videos. I want to reschedule but I don't want rescheduling to delay my application and affect me adversely in the admissions process. How late do you think is the latest I can take the DAT and still be safe? I was thinking between July 5th and 10th. Any advice?

Also, in the worst case scenario, if I had to retest and wait 90 days, I would be retesting in October. Do you think they would look at a new DAT score that late? Or is it likely they would have already made a decision and *possibly* have tossed my application out by then, especially if my first DAT score wasn't good enough? (lol I know, the level of optimism).

I have a decent GPA I guess, (3.67 cumulative and 3.4-3.5 sGPA) so I don't know if that would save my app in between my first and second DAT dates (hypothetically) if the worst case scenario were to occur.

Lastly, I am taking a summer class which I think could raise my cumulative GPA to a 3.72 and my science GPA as well. Should I wait to submit my apps till I get the grade for that class? (I am thinking I would get the grade for it in the first two weeks of July).

I am really unfamiliar with how the submit/verify/mail process works, and it's really freaking me out because clearly there are components of my application that are still pending (my grade for the summer class and my DAT score). I also have a rec letter that will be in by June 31st. Can someone please walk me how it works?

Dont take the DAT until you are ready. That being said, July 5th-10th isn't late at all. Just submit your application as soon as you can, then on the day of your test fax your unofficial scores, letting the schools know that they are unofficial. You should be fine. Don't worry about "if you have to retake it." Just take it one step at a time. If you happen to get a bad score, then worry about it then, but until you actually take your DAT and get your score don't worry about possibly retaking it.

If you want to wait till your summer grade is finalized then that should be fine too. July isn't late, especially if you are going to take your DAT around that same time.
