Hi, I scheduled my DAT on Aug 25. But it didn't hit me until last week that I need to study hardcore. So, I believe i'm really behind in terms of studying compared to other applicants. I know it sounds stupid but I'm still in the learning stage. Just reading Kaplan review notes for the first time. Please give me some feedback! 😳

THANKS!

Be prepared. Dental school wont be as forgiving when forgetting to study for a test (I dont know how that is possible). I dont know if the dat will either. sorry. Reschedule the dat is my advice. 😎

its totally relative dude. you could be a genius, not study at all, and ace the thing or you could be an idiot, study for years, and bomb it. nobody can really answer your question. if you are not a strong test taker then you should post-pone that thing, if you are, then you may be okay but you might risk a mediocre score, 17-18.

thats it, you wagged off again didnt ya?

MR. wagg, u must stop wagging like a wagger or ur gonna get your wag wagged out of dental school. 😉

the OP doesn't appear to have much confidence. I suggest you to take the test when confidence arrives - whenever that may be. DAT is a CRITICALLY IMPORTANT aspect of one's pre-dental package.

I could very well be the exception, but I only studied hard core for 3 weeks, (without a really good prior knowledge of the material) and got a 23 AA. However....I am a pretty strong test taker, can memorize info really well (I memorized the entire Kaplan book) and worked super hard...my studying wasn't get sitting down and reading and getting distracted or daydreaming, I was outlining Kaplan. It CAN be done, but you need to recognize your strengths, or possibly weaknesses...I tend to be pretty good in the clutch, but if you get nervous or have a hard time retaining material after one go, you might want to hold off. Let me know if you have questions about how I studied! Good luck!!

It's an easy test and there' no need to worry, I thought the materials covered on the test is less detailed, and more basic than what's covered at UG core science classes. Get used to the PAT a bit and you should be good to go.

There are lots of us who took the DAT cold without studying.

Of course, if you haven't taken the core science subjects, it might get a bit hairy.
