I logged on to AACOMAS today. I was sitting in the library, enjoying a nice cold Arizona Green Tea, and typed in the address: aacomas.aacom.org. I logged in as I had so many times before when preparing my primary.

As the page was loading, I turned to the side to say hi to a friend of mine walking by. We joked around, him asking me the same question so many of us are getting right now: "When are you going to know if you're off any of those waitlists?"

And then I saw it--the worst question ever. "Would you like to go to your 2010 application or begin a new application for the 2011 admissions cycle?"

And, bowing my head in shame, I chose the latter. 😳

And this is why everyone preaches to apply in June of the previous year. You are an excellent candidate, but were destined to be a re-applicant applying so late in the cycle. You'll do fine on the next go around, good luck!

Agreed 3/3/2010, I'm surprised you got as many interviews as you did. Welcome to our pool, I am envious of you having your MCAT out of the way, and a good score at that.

thanks guys.

just thought i'd lighten the mood of those of us on the waitlist 😀

The reason I applied in March wasn't by choice--I wasn't given the go-ahead by the Navy until November, so I scrambled to take the MCAT and pre-reqs.

cest la vie! Hopefully I can convince Uncle Sam to let me wait a year!

Former Active Duty Air Force here, now a Civilian that works in the system...I feel your pain, as far as waiting on Uncle Sam.

Let me guess, since you got the "go ahead" in November that must mean you asked and put in for it in February?

G/L on the waitlist game

You and me both buddy. But I unfortunately have nobody to blame but myself for my late app. I know I will be much better served to apply June, as opposed to having my AACOMAS cleared in late November!!
