Any idea if its worth it to visit the dental school and meet the admissions dean the year before I apply? Tour campus and see the facilities stuff.

Anyone ever done this?

I've personally never done this, but If you are close by, I don't see how it would hurt. I also don't see it help either. Chances are they will forget who you are by the time hundred of applications start rolling in every week.

Like Mazmel said, it doesn't hurt. However, a lot of schools don't even let you set up a visit so I'd call first beforehand. I think the biggest advantage to visiting would be to give you more knowledge about the school, something that may help you in interviews. That being said, I don't think visiting/introducing yourself really helps at all. If you want to visit a school, I'd suggest visiting USC or UoP because you'll have an opportunity to sit down with an admissions person and/or advisor and figure out what your areas of "weakness" are and will help you gameplan.
