At my undergrad uni, before you could enroll in the years worth of gen chem (lets call them chem 101 and chem 102), you had to either pass a test coming out of high school or take chem 100. once you passed chem 100, then you were allowed to take 101 and 102, obviously. but since its sort of a remedial chemistry class, is that class worth retaking to boost GPA? or do schools not even factor that class into the GPA and only go with chem 101 and 102?

thanks for any responses in advance

If it shows on your undergrad transcript, they're going to see it (if you're applying to texas schools they see your high school transcript too 😵), but it will have different weight than pre-reqs. If you got a grade lower than a C I would retake it because that would be a red flag IMO. If you do well in all your chem classes but got a C on chem 100 I'm pretty sure they're going to realize you know your stuff. Med schools look at trends. But just be aware they will see it, even if you retake. Have a good explanation just in case they ask you.
