Would dental school revoke acceptance if you have one F in one course?

I mean I am getting As in all my other classes but there's just this one class that I am dying in and I don't have much motivation to study hard since I am already admitted to dental school. But I think I have a really good chance (like 95%) of getting F in this class because I did very badly so far.

I mean, I don't think my overall gpa/sci gpa will be affected a lot because I think I will have over 3.0 for the semester cuz one F and As in all other classes come out to average more than 3.0. But I am worried if dental school would revoke the acceptance because I have one F in the semester (and sorry for not specifying which dental school, I would like to keep it kind of private).

- and no this course that I am a getting a F in is not part of prerequisites nor part of my bachelor graduation requirement. This course was just something I was taking as extra outside my college. Thus, I am getting my bachelor's degree with this course's grade as F.

I would appreciate if anybody could give some info or anything.

Let them know of your problem. The rest is up to them. An F is an F regardless of the course you are getting it from. It is stupid to get yourself in this position in the first place. Getting at least a C should have been easy. If they do revoke your acceptance apply again next year. 👎

I agree, you might want to let them know this ASAP before anything dramatic would happen.

In general, you are required to have "satisfactory grades" from the time you are accepted to the time you actually matriculate.

I highly doubt that they would revoke your acceptance for one grade, but i would at least try to get a C or D if i were you. An F will look pretty bad... but bad enough to drop you, i doubt it. Withdrawing from the class would probably be better than getting an F.

Each school has its own rules regarding this. Some require that you maintain or better your GPA until graduation, some require that you make at least a C in all of your remaining classes. Definitely contact your future school about this, and also meet with your professor and explain the situation. The second part helps more than you might think... especially if it is not a required class for you to graduate. Explain that if you pass the class you graduate and go on to dental school. Conversely if you fail, you said that you will still graduate so the need of this class is that it only determines whether or not you will attend dental school the following year.

As long as you graduate with the degree you say you will graduate with you should be fine...

Tell them and hope for the best. Schools don't like to revoke acceptances because it makes admissions look bad. However this doesn't mean that they won't.

it totally depends on which school.
i personally know a few people dropped their masters or phd. after they got accepted and it didn't matter for them anyhow.
they finished their prereqs. and were not convicted of any criminal charges after acceptance.

so once again.
it all depends on which school.
just check with your school and hope for the best!

yup, depends on the school. i would say the majority would be hesitant to admit you with an F post-acceptance. i know that VCU will rescind their acceptance if you get below a C or even withdraw from a class.
