How much of a positive impact, if any, would being a manager at a major chain restaurant have on my application?

I would think that it would show strong leadership, problem solving, ability to work long shifts and 70 hour weeks, handle stressful situations with a lot of responsibility...however I could be mistaken. Thanks!

Pretty much any work experience can be positive if you spin it the right way. Use it to your advantage!

Thanks! Yeah my MCAT/GPA/EC stats are neither bad nor amazing, they just put me on the fence so I'm wondering how much something like that could stand out.

Healthcare is a team oriented profession. You have experience leading a team and taking responsibility for the end product, hopefully you are able to see how this strengthens your application.

Don't forget that medicine is still a service profession. You gotta make your patients (ahem, customers) happy. There are more similarities to food service than you'd think. Additionally, if you did the work to support yourself through school and managed to put up half decent stats, then kudos to you. That's very impressive.

It definitely reflects well for the reasons you listed.
