    Hi everyone,

I'm strongly considering a shift into pharmacy school, after completing my undergraduate degree in business in 2004. If anyone is willing to answer a few questions, I'd love to ask you about campus life, course load, etc. I don't know anyone personally who is currently enrolled in pharmacy school and would love an insider's perspective. Feel free to private message me.

    Thanks!
    Andrew

    Andrew,

If you don't get PM's, ask here in the forum and I'm sure you'll get several responses. :)

Thanks guys. I'm just curious to get a student's perspective on their time in pharmacy school---the subjective stuff. Yes, pharmacy school is difficult. Got that. Yes, you have to study a lot. Check. But how was it for you personally? How did you manage your time? Did you find yourself getting job offers? Did you make friends with folks in your class? Did you work during your time? Did you have time to read for pleasure?

You know, that kind of things. You all are being a huge help. Thank you! I like the community here!

I would say time management is one of the biggest issues when it comes to pharmacy school. What has worked in the past may not work now because of the vast amount of information being thrown at you. You may be used to studying for an exam a few days in advance where as now you are expected to be constantly studying. For me, I always kicked my studying into high gear come 2 weeks before an exam. I always studied until around midnight each night and on Fridays and Saturdays I studied until 5 that way I could go out with my friends and the whole weekend would not be wasted. My freshman year I joining a professional frat, KAPPA PSI ALL THE WAY!!!, so that is something I would suggest if you are interested. I didn't work at all during the school year. With all of the reading I had to do during the school year.... I didn't have time, nor did I want to read for pleasure!

Fo' shizzle, and an entire forum of hopeful students. :D

The only reading I like to do for pleasure is WVUPharm's blog, and I don't know how much longer I can go on without an update!
