For those of you that don't know of Kevin Gates, he is a musician from Baton Rouge, Louisiana who has served time in prison for what I believe a drug conviction. Before you discredit him because of this, while in prison he obtained a master's degree in psychology, he scored a 31 on the ACT at 16 years old while living in a financially disadvantaged area, and he is rather articulate when he wants to be as you can see from watching his interviews. Given this, do you think that Kevin, or someone like Kevin, without the abundance of tattoos and diamond encrusted teeth, would have a shot at gaining acceptance to a US MD/DO program if he had a competitive GPA and MCAT score?
