Yes, it would affect dental schools. The previous supreme court case that allowed for racism via affirmative action was Grutter vs. Bollinger, which involved University of Michigan Law School. So it would affect dental schools and all graduate schools, not just undergrad admissions

If I was a URM I would be upset that I can get a lower gpa/DAT and still get in. I think it is offensive that minorities need a handicap to become professionals. As a white male I know I am at the bottom, as well as Asian males. Having affirmative action is like saying minorities are as smart as Asians or whites. The whole thing is screwed up. I find it ironic how MLK fought for equality but when it comes down to it race does matter. I think schools shouldn't be allowed to ask your race, as doctors we won't be able to ask if someone is gay, married, had a DUI, has HIV, race, ect. Oh not to mention how wrong it is to have schools like Howard and Meharry.

I think it is tough to predict whether it will be in favor or against. One Supreme Court justice (Elana Kagan) can't participate because of her previous work. That is a good thing.
So lets break down the 8 Supreme Court Justices.Scalia, Thomas, and Alito are sure to rule AGAINST affirmative action (racism). Sotomayor, Ginsburg, and Stephen Bryer are sure to vote IN FAVOR of racism (affirmative action). So it comes down to Kennedy (as usual lol) and Roberts. Kennedy has already shown a distaste for affirmative action, but you can NEVER be sure of Kennedy. John Roberts is also hard to figure. He is also a swing vote but he has one quote that tilts him against affirmative action: "It is a sordid business, this divvying us up by race."
I think the court will tie. It will be a 4-4 decision, and thus affirmative action (racism) will be allowed to plague our schools.
Imagine the outrage that would ensue if the WET channel became a reality? There would be an outcry of blatant racism. I agree with you. BET as it stands is racist, because we all know that WET could never exist as things are today. Do away with all things race. It doesn't matter at all. Job applications, school applications, loan applications - NOTHING should have a "Select your race" check box section. Put everyone on level ground. That's the way it should be.
It's not that hard. Just think about it. People are being treated differently because they are from a different race, or have a different skin color. Last I checked, that was the very thing we were trying to get AWAY from. If we want to move away from our past, then the first thing to do is just drop the race card altogether. Vote against the school. Abolish affirmative action. It's a step in the right direction towards equality.
