Could you please just tell us what "they" care about? Do they even care about our ECs or is that basically CV fluff? Is it all just down to name of med school, step 1, clinical grades, LORs, and AOA?

No, otherwise they wouldn't ask for all that other stuff. I think what gutonc is trying to say is that it doesn't matter how you categorize it. Just don't lie and you'll be fine. People need to stop obsessing over such trivial things. Whether you have one extra "Work" or one extra "Volunteer" experience doesn't matter. If you were reading tons of applications would you give a hoot about how they labeled it or care more about the description?
