Wright State

Pros:
Close to home
Cheaper COA (30-40k)
Small Class Size

Cons:
Dayton probably isn't as fun as Philadelphia

Drexel

Pros:
Better Match List
Philly/East Coast living
Better opportunities with surrounding schools (UPenn, Jefferson, and such)

Cons:
Further from home
Expensive COA (~75k)
LARGE Class Size

Drexel has more research opportunities. Depending on your career goals that may or may not be worth 200K, probably not though.

If you wanna match outside of ohio/midwest, I think Drexel is the move. Also Drexel doesnt have lecures (all online) but they have in class activities which they split into small "societies" so the class doesnt seem as big. Also research all around Philly if you want to do research/competitive fields that require lots of productive research.

Do you know what specialty you're interested in? If it's one in which research is important, I would also agree Drexel is the better choice and may be worth the extra $$$

This is like $160k diff before interest.... probly close to $250k DIFFERENCE with interest once u pay it off depending on how long it takes. And that’s not even the total, just the difference. In my opinion, the schools are not different enough to warrant that, especially with fam support closer to Dayton

What are your long term career goals? Go where you would want to match typically. Based off of this information alone -- I would say go to Wright State for the cheaper COA.

Wright State has a rural medicine and primary care focus I'm pretty sure so if that's your thing then definitely go there. I don't know much about Drexel.

Many of my classmates that did research this summer didn’t even do it at drexel, they were at Penn.

I asked my interviewer about this and he said the same thing since some of the Drexel research focuses may not be up everybody’s ally. Also that may help if you wanna apply to penn for reseidency? Not sure but it probably wouldn’t hurt.

Yes, it can for sure help with residency. Networking matters a lot. Your interviewer isn’t wrong either.. if you have a research focus and your school doesnt seem to have it, a place like Philly isnt bad since there are places nearby to do it.
