I've been staring at my secondary essays all day and they're all beginning to look the same. I don't know what to write anymore b/c it seems like I'm repeating myself. I'm even tired of hearing myself think. 🙁

Is it okay to repeat experiences from your personal statement to your secondary essay?

Try to keep that to a minimum. If you can, just write/read one essay at a time, give several copies to family & friends to tear apart, then take a good hour break and play video games, eat, watch tv, listen to music, work out, SOMETHING to get your mind off of the essays. Then, when you go back, you can start with a clean slate and attempt your next essay.

Don't worry if all your secondaries start to sound the same. They could be EXACTLY the same, save for the name of the school you are applying to, and nobody but you would know! But don't say the same things from your primary, that makes you look boring and un-original. You aren't boring and un-original are you? 🙂

Write one essay that encompasses the usual questions you're asked -- why DO, why physician, yadda yadda. Save some room to ask school specifics at the end.
