I'm having a really hard time starting the personal statement for intern/transitional year programs...any advice?

or can anyone give me a sample statement..or where can i find examples of these?

I just used my Ophtho one...and added to the end...something along the lines of "and it is these characteristics that I think will make me a dedicated intern as I wish to learn yadda yadda yadda" (you get the basics)

i.e. I used my Ophtho one and barely tweaked it to make it a little more TY specific...but some people straight up used their Ophtho one and did fine...free standing internships understand that all your effort goes into making a strong Ophtho statement and the internship is an afterthought after the stress of matching in Ophtho

I used my ophthalmology personal statement verbatim and got interviews to every TY program I applied to. My friends going into Derm and Rads did the same. At the time, I was exhausted from submitting my ophtho application and doing aways, and thought it would be better to get the internship application in as soon as possible. Tweak your ophtho essay if it makes you feel better, but I really don't think it makes much of a difference for TY progs, they know you career aspirations are elsewhere

I used my ophtho one as well, and added one line along the line of "TY will be good blah blah" or "Prelim surg will be good blah blah". I can't stand general medicine. Hope I'm doing the right thing.
