I haven't taken any AAMC tests yet or any tests really for that matter so I'm not too knowledgeable about how the test questions are designed yet. All I know is what I've been reading on SDN. That being said, like Verbal, are there wrong answer pathologies to certain question types in the science sections. For example, like those questions that depend on passage information, will there be an answer that is "out of scope" of the question stem?

yes

Yep. Sometimes you can rule a few out just by virtue of them being obviously untrue . It is harder for verbal

There's usually at least one out of scope answer per question, honestly.

Other common answer traps to look for include extreme answers, too narrow/broad, misused details, etc. If you can recognize these answer traps, you'll really help yourself when you're able to narrow it down to two answers.. as typically the other one is one of these traps that just feels so good you don't want to eliminate it.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm just starting to do passages ( I'm not taking it until Jan 2014). So this should help a bit. Any other input is appreciated
