Hey everyone,

I just want to find out what you think grad schools will think about quite a few Ws on a person's transcript. I have about 7 of them. I know they aren't counted in the SOPHAS GPA, but I am worried that perhaps it will look bad.

Thanks!

If it hurts, I don't think it would matter much. It might also depend on how recent they are, what kind of grades you got in the courses you completed around the same time, and what subjects they are in. When I applied for an Epi Master's for Fall 2009 admissions, my undergrad transcript (1999-2004) included 2-3 W's and 5-10 D's and F's from my freshman year but I got into every program I applied for (UCB, UCLA, SDSU, HSPH, UofW, UofM). Also, the rest of my application as far as research experience, GRE scores etc was stronger, so that probably helped.

Wow that is very reassuring. I was so worried that my Ws could make me look bad. I have 2 Ds and one F too but I have to explain them already due to me being academically dismissed. *sigh* I am very paranoid that I won't be able to get in to any schools.
