wtf is USN up to?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey I received this email on September 29th,

All of us at the University of Southern Nevada's College of Dental Medicine appreciate your interest in our new DMD program.

We wanted to send you a quick email update about your admissions application status. We have received your $50 application processing fee, contact information and AADSAS application. Thank you for submitting the requested materials. Your file is ready for review by the Admissions Committee.

Please note that we will begin reviewing applications in early October. Once we have reviewed your file, we will contact you if we need additional information. As you will see on AADSAS (and in our Frequently Asked Questions), USN does not require a secondary application. We will be starting interviews in late October or early November.

I got that email same day as well. To maybe help explain why its taking so long, the people that were hired to run admissions at the school didn't even move to Utah until June or July. The dental building isn't even built yet, although it looks about halfway done from the pic. Also, they can easily rely on their class being filled up no matter when they accept people. (BYU in provo UT 20 mins away has more dental school applicants than any other university in the country and most of them are well qualified). I suspect, and I'm sure USN does too, that quite a few Utah applicants will stay in state since most are very family oriented.

Why doesn't BYU have a dental school yet? Perhaps USN should hand it over to them lol.
