Hi All...
Did anyone receive online status changes today? In the past, it seems that the online system updated on Mondays too...

my status = decision pending. Interviewed in October and like jackie, I also had a stress interview 😡
They told us 6-8 weeks until we hear back after our interviews- and that doesn't factor in holiday time off. Considering you just interviewed two weeks ago, I'd say you might indeed be waiting until February. Sigh...
), but my hunch is that they go ahead and extend offers sooner to the applicants they really liked. Let's hope we're two of them😉status just changed from decision pedning to
"A final decision was made on your application on 12-15-06. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."
that sucks that no decision will be given over the phone - this could be good or bad news right? from reading this thread, it looks like if you're put on hold, you are kept at decision pending. but i assume, "a final decision" could be rejection or acceptence?
Just thinking- what do you guys think the cut-off was for the December Admissions Committee meeting? In other words, what do you think the last day for interviews would've been that an applicant would've been considered in the December meeting? I realize this is purely hypothetical, but since I interviewed right before the committee met, I'm trying to rationalize to myself that I missed the December meeting, won't be considered until January, and therefore have no reason to be freaking out that I've yet to hear good news like some of you lucky ducks.

I interviewed on 10/18 and the committee met on 10/19 and I was not considered at that meeting. When did you interview in December? Seems like the committee met on 12/14...
Does anyone know if applicants who are put "on hold" during one month's committee meeting actually end up being accepted in the next month's committee meeting? For example, being put on hold in December, and receiving an acceptance in January. Are the turnaround times pretty quick for those who are placed on hold?

I was told that applicants do get accepted at the next month's committee meeting after being put on hold. It might be a rarity 🙁 I have supposedly been reviewed twice and no decision has been made 😡
Oh, well. Hopefully they looked beyond my nervousness and could tell that I really like UIC!I was told that applicants do get accepted at the next month's committee meeting after being put on hold. It might be a rarity 🙁 I have supposedly been reviewed twice and no decision has been made 😡

My status page changed today from " decision pending" to " a final decision, was made 12-19-06" I was considered in the November meeting, no decision was made, I received the no decision email, and i guess they made a decision on me this time around. Hopefully it's a big white envelope coming in the mail!!!I was told that applicants do get accepted at the next month's committee meeting after being put on hold. Just checked the status page - it said that a piece of correspondence was sent out on 12/18. Did anyone get this and ended up getting a rejection letter vs. no decision vs. acceptance letter? Thanks,

SO it wasn't an acceptance, rather a seat offer in the Post-Bac program. I guess I have to jump through some more damn hoops to get into UIC. Very frustrating. It says the status check is down for routine maintenance but its Wednesday!
I thought the committee meeting was 12/14...this is very mysterious. I was also reviewed at the November meeting and no decision was made.
Hi All,
Did anyone get an email from UIC today stating that no final decision has been made on your application and that you are still under consideration? Just curious 😉

I got that e-mail today as well but I interviewed in October. I should have gotten that e-mail in November! Now I'm not even sure that I was reviewed at th November meeting. They seem so disorganized...
mdapp06Hey morriske,
I know how you feel...but don't worry about it, we will be reviewed again in January (at least that's what I was told when I called today). From what the admissions counselor told me, it depends a lot on who we are being compared to during the committee meeting. The admissions counselor also told me that it is not a bad thing to get the email...so hopefully we'll have good news in January!

Do you happen to know anything about this program?I'm with you now. Very disappointing. Why do they send the post bacc invite in the large envelope? I was all excited.
Anyone know when the Jan. meeting is???
Maybe tomorrow....
That's just my feeling 🙂

I do know of people that have been rejected already from UIC, so they don't necessarily wait till the end of the interview season to reject everyone.
I've been an "applicant in process" since being complete in late August. I'm becoming VERY impatient, especially since they said I'd hear something in 6-8 weeks, and it's been over 3 months. I've also tried about 5-6 times to get my status checked, and each time I've either been put on hold for 45min-hour or have been redirected to a voicemail box (and my message was never returned).
This is my top choice school, and I'm really worried .......
Anyone else in my position?
At my interview on Jan 10, they told us the January meeting would be near the end of the month around the 29th and that we would know by the first or second week of Feb.
hey - whats the link to the status page for uic? i cant seem to find it...
thanks!
I need to find out if a few of my classes qualify for the behavioral sciences prereq.
Has anyone contacted UIC about this pre-admission? If my classes don't qualify, I need to start classes now. I want to email in class descriptions and get a yay/nay rather than have them tell me to send it to them later in the season when it will be too late to scramble and rectify.
Does anyone have a name/email address in admissions? Thanks, I didn't want to start a new thread for this.

Thanks a million BioMedEngineer. This is exactly what I needed!

Have u heard from them yet? I received a conditional acceptance from them... they want me to retake the MCAT.. I wish they could take that back..

They want you to retake the MCATs in order to matriculate? What did you get the first time?
