I have been accepted to the WVSOM class of 2011. However, I forgot to ask when I was there what their testing schedule is like. Most specifically PBL but I am interested in knowing SBL too. Are they like every week, every month, one big one at the end, all subjects at one time, spread out??? You get the picture😀

congrats! i was accepted too, but haven't decided if i'm going yet. would like to know the answer to that as well, especially for the lecture based learning

Congrats on getting in. Well, I'm a 1st year PBL, but I can help you with them all. Basically, for PBL, we have one test every ten week block over our PBL material. Thats one of the benefits or draw back to PBL...you gotta keep reviewing the material for a solid ten weeks while learning tons and tons of other stuff. But, you will know the material intimately by time its all done. Anyways, us PBLer's take Anatomy, OPP, and clinical skills with our SBL counterparts. With those three classes, we all have one big test every three weeks (including the anatomy practical on that day).

For the SBL curriculum, they have a SBL test every three weeks which is the day before the big test we all take...we SBL people get hit hard with two big tests on back to back days. Their benefit is that they can do a mental dump and relax for a day or two once the tests are over. For us PBLers, we take the big test and keep right on with our PBL curriculum without any breaks. Well, if you have any questions about the PBL curriculum, please send me a message. I absolutely love the program, yet will give you honest answers about it.
