Hey guys,

I'm a non-traditional applicant, and here are my stats:

Overall GPA (Post-baccalaureate plus undergrad): 3.6
Science GPA (Post-baccalaureate plus undergrad): 3.7

DAT: AA/TS/PAT = 21/21/25

I've also got about 120 hours shadowing dentists, and about 100 volunteer hours at a free dental clinic. I also have many other extra-curriculars from my undergrad days.

I plan to apply to about 15 schools. What are my chances, guys?

Based on stats alone, I would say you have a great chance of acceptance. What state residence are you?

Georgia. I just feel like my stats are right on (or just SLIGHTLY above) the average for most schools, and that makes me uneasy. Am I just worrying too much here?

your thread is borderline troll OP.

You have great stats. Telling yourself or others that you are "just about average" will piss some people off

Oh, that was certainly not my intention. I'm simply going off what I see on predents.com...are those stats not good representations of actual admissions stats?

Not at all really lol. It's typically the cream of the crop who make profiles on predents....and who post on SDN for that matter. Look at the averages in the ADEA guidebook and they'll tell a very different story. You're looking good!

It makes you worried that you're barely above the average acceptance stats for the majority of dental schools??

If anything, that should ease your mind. Unless you're a complete awkward introvert at your interviews, you should have handful of acceptances.

Good deal...thanks for the words of confidence, guys. I guess I'm just a worrier, lol.

Even though its late in the cycle. I believe your chance are good on getting into somewhere.
Are you planning on applying this year? If so your app wouldn't be sent out until sometime in february which could decrease your chances some.
I guess it depends on where you want to apply. Some schools will have a great deal of their sets filled by the time your application will get reviewed but I still think you'll get in somewhere if not a couple places.
Although, if you waited until June and apply early next cycle, you will have many more options to get into the school you really want to get into.

Goodluck

Oh, I'm not planning to apply to this current cycle. I'm planning to apply this coming June when applications for the new cycle open up.
