I got interviews from western and touro
I took the august m-cat and I am starting to get more interviews. But I really like Nova. The atomosphere, the facilities, and the staff were all great. I don't know now, but so far Nova is my number one choice. I am also gonna be interviewing at MD programs. I am gonna go with what program and school I like the most.
 
Hello all!
Did anyone get a call yesterday, 2/10/05, telling them if they were accepted or not? I was supposed to get a call yesterday but didn't. On the day of the interview the admissions lady said they would call us on that day. Do they call you if you get rejected? Although, I thought I remember her saying they call everyone no matter what.
So, please tell me if you got called. Also, could you specifically state if it was a rejection or an acceptance.
Does anyone else have any ideas about why I did not get a call? I am worried. 🙁

don't worry...You will not get a call until monday. That's what the admission office lady told me when I called them. she said they are too busy to make the phone call on friday, like they promised us. Good luck 🙂
 
Delia said they would call either the friday..or the following monday...so try to have some patience...(i know easier said than done)
 
Check Webstar. I found out I was accepted online before getting the phone call.
 
My interview is on Feb 15 (wed) so when will be the SOONEST date that I will find out?? I need to know asap because I have another acceptance and the deadline for that is March 1. Do you think that they will make a decision within 2 weeks?

i think the committee meets like the 2nd wednesday of every month or something. call the school and find out 🙂 good luck

Like lunallena mentioned, the committee meets every 2 weeks. Make sure you have all your materials in (i.e. LOR from a DO, etc). During the interview day, Delia will let everyone know if their file is complete. If your file is complete they will probably review it that very SAME day since that should be the day they meet (2nd wed. of the month). AFter the committee reviews it, the dean will sign off on the acceptances/rejections/waitlisted on that friday. Phone calls can be made as early as that Friday, possibly the following Monday (20th). I know this because I interview on a monday (11/28), the committee met Wednesday (11/30), and I found out on that friday (12/2) 🙂
 
Anyone with any luck on contacting NOVA admission office? or contacted by the admission office?

I was told by Delia that she will make the phone call by Friday or Monday... I still haven't heard from her at all. I've tried calling a few times this morning (monday) and none of my phone calls were picked up.

the sooner I know...the sooner I can decide to keep or drop my other interviews...
 
My advice is to just wait...they are supposed to call you..not the other way around ...good luck 😉
 
Well, I got in 🙂

Now, I got to cancel my flights to DMU and Touro... hopefully, i can get some credit or money back.

Congratulations, MrBoxy! I also received good news today as well. I was also admitted into NSU Class of 2010. 😛 It is exciting but also surreal as well.

What have you found out about the AP test scores required by NSU? They asked me to send in the scores too. I have no idea how to do this. Comments?
 
Is there a difference between the "Provisionally accepted" and "accepted"?

on webstar, mine said "provisionally accepted"...
 
dont worry dude...mine used to be provisionally accepted..but during xmas break..it said contact admissions office..webstar is messed up..

I got in!!!!

After 3 years of applying to Med school, taking the MCAT 3 times, taking a medical mission trip to India, and after a tremendous amount of stress I finally got in somewhere!!! The longer it takes to get in, the more satisfying the acceptance. When Delia called I was screaming in her ear--i think she thought I was crazy or something. :laugh: Man I'm so excited and pumped to get started.

When did you interview? I did on Monday 2/20 and havent received a call yet.....
 
Oh yeah! I just got the phone call and I'm in! I absolutely loved Nova! I still have another interview next week that I'll go to but I fell in love with Nova so we'll see.

Interviewed 2/15 (wed) and AdCom's met 2/22 and Delia called me 2/24. They were fast.

What is the message that you guys have on webstar right now? Mine was "provisionally accepted" and now, it doesn't say anything at all.

I sent the deposit of 2000.00 yesterday. So, this is weird...then again, it's webstar.
 
mine said "provisionally accepted" then changed to "contact admissions" and now after almost 2 months it says program : osteopathic medicine. weird huh? so don't worry 🙂

how do u join??? do u have to switch ur school to nova before u can join??
 
yea..you do...OR you can just create another account under nova instead of porting the school...im going to wait until i graduate to port the school over to nova tho

sux that facebook wont let you join groups from other schools 🙁

Is your application still able to be viewed? I had an interview last week and my application is now non-existant. Does this mean I was removed from the system completely and not accepted?

But to create another account you need your nova e-mail address- do we know that already if we've just been accepted?

it should say in the letter following your first deposit how to setup an email account with nova and join the listserver of the new class.
 
i think once you commit..and pay the deposit..they will send you instructions on setting up an email account...ive already got one set up..but forgot on the timing of things...of when i created the acct..
 
I'd like to start looking for housing near campus. If anyone needs a roommate or has any information on housing pls post.
 
I am currently in my second semestre of undergraduate school at USF and have many obstacles to come. For those who have been accepted to NSU-COM and LECOM Bradenton could you please share with me the interview experience and application process in general, whether it be on the forum or by private message? Also for anyone in general, do you have any words of advice?

P.S. CONGRATULATIONS times infinity for those accepted to the schools of their choice!!!!!! It get's me amped seeing others being accepted, hoping that I too will be in that position one day.

i just put down the rest of my deposit today for NSU! wahoo! i also just joined the facebook-thing (new to all of that stuff)... 🙂

anyways, to reply to your message: check out the medical student interview feedback for both schools. i think they tend to be pretty accurate if you read enough of them.

Hmm, yeah i *think* i just confirmed it? This newfangled technology stuff! 🙄

Besides joining the listserv, sending in transcripts, etc., and getting a physical/vaccination sheet signed off, is there anything else we need to do right now? (oh, and look for housing) do we need to order the white coat and scrubs now too? and for the white coat form, it says we give our name - i think i saw people with a couple different styles, like "only name" or "name, MS-1" or "name, M.S. 1".... but then i figure you're going to have to keep getting new ones each year.... but then if it's not there, is there any other way of identifiying your status? i guess what i'm asking is, what is appropriate to put on a coat?

all i did was send them 2k bucks. wow, i have a lot of stuff to do...so lazy. must fight the senoritis. this is why i think all med schools should send out replies at the last minute like in may, when everyone is practically done with school and keeps them afraid of not getting accepted and continue to do well in school. oh well, i'm going out tonight to get drunk, possibly laid if their are some hot skinny freshmen.
 
So I sent them my 2K over 2 months ago, and I still haven't recieved anything about physicals, or anything at all. The only thing I have recieved was a statment showing my 2K from billing.

Should I have recieved anything else?
