Has anyone ever completed yoga teacher training that overlapped with the beginning of medical school? I'm looking at a program that would be 6 hours on Sundays that would start now until the beginning of December, 200 hours total.

I'm wondering if that may be too much to handle while transitioning into medical school. If so, is there a better time to do it? School begins beginning of July, there's only a one week or two summer break between M1 and M2, it's 1.5 years preclinical and step 1 is after core rotations. I think it would be cool to learn more and could possibly lead classes for students at school or volunteer my time at community centers.

you can try it out and see if it works for you. You are going to hate yourself before exams especially if you are doing poorly tho.

Too bad you don't have an actual summer break between M1-M2, as that would be ideal.

Agree with the above post. You can give it a shot, but if your studies start to suffer because of it then drop that **** ASAP.

You literally have 100 free hours M1 and M2 per week.

Joking aside, you can absolutely make 6 hours a week important to you and put aside for something. If this is something you want to do and will make you feel good/relax - I would totally do it.

My gf did yoga teacher training on the weekends during her freshman year of college and it is a huge time commitment so be careful before you commit.

Sounds like a great idea! (no sarcasm)

You should expect to spend all day on Saturday studying, and especially at the beginning, maybe part of Sunday too

Im bad at time management, but all the time I am not doing activities of daily living or socializing. I am studying.

Thank you all for your responses! Wasn't expecting many responses but I was pleasantly surprised 🙂

I think I'll end up registering for the class and ask about how flexible they are about letting me make up a class if I needed to study more that weekend for an exam or something or if they offer refunds if I decide I can't handle both.
