2007 Black Magic Volkswagen GTI - Package 2 (Now called the Autobahn package)
1995 Blue Toyota 4x4 Pickup w/ 3L V-6
It is kind of like an abusive relationship. No matter how much I beat her up, she just keeps coming back for more abuse.
But I love her man.

Big windshield star from trying to keep up with the 4x4's in the mountains of Idaho
Right rear fender dent from sliding a little wide around the curve
$3000 worth of tires, wheels, and wheel bearings in the last 12 months
1995 Blue Toyota 4x4 Pickup w/ 3L V-6
Rolled it at highway speed
Totalled two 1-ton Ford's with it and drove away from both accidents
Spent 2 years bashing through the snow to get to my cabin on an unplowed road
Changed the oil when I felt like it
Pulled multiple big trucks out of sand, snow, and mud
Treated the engine like crap responding to fire/ems incidents
hauled firewood
hauled poorly secured gas cylinders
beat the living hell out of it

Heh, my 8-year-old is named Bryn too.
2010 Prius Package 3 -- I love it.
It is much more comfortable than the 1997 Geo Prizm (bought 11/99) I drove until mid-June. That car was good but cost of upkeep was approaching value of the car.

Wow. You are really small. What kind of arraignments have been done to the OR so that you can function properly?
2006 Lexus ES 330 Black Diamond edition
was noticed when i rotated in shreveport louisiana as one of the midas guys said that that was possibly only the 2nd one he's seen in louisiana, i believe only 1000 of the black diamonds were made
also i am a MS4...is it bad if my car is better than the residents (i doubt the attendings hahah)

Yeah, I get carded all the time when I go out... but the ladies love me... they don't even have to lay down.

Only if you have any student loan debt. Financing a luxury car while you're borrowing money to pay tuition or living expenses seems to be the very definition of "bad" to me. (If you're debt-free, then never mind. 🙂)
no debt from college (got the car right after graduation)
only about half of debt left from med school
and no i dont think im spoiled (so says the kid with the lexus, sic)
but im not a big car guy, ill probably drive it til it stops running then buy an accord or camry....why does no one here have the scion XB aka the german war tank?

They just make VWs surprisingly large now. The German nation is pretty tall as a whole.
Mazda 3 S in black. It's my 2nd one, and it's a pretty smooth car. Nothing fancy, but pretty quick and reliable. Now that I'm in SF, I'm bumping it into a lot of things, so it's starting to degrade a bit.
Sportin' around in a 02 Hyundai. Bad ass buddy....
2008 subaru sti. Subaru #3 for me - looking forward to winter driving already.

Have to agree with you on that one. I keep pushing the goal posts further back on myself.
I'm rolling in a burgandy 1999 Toyota Camry. 203,000 miles.
Alignment could use some work, but she's still purring like a kitten. And I'm too poor to buy a new car.

1996 Mazda 626 with 194K miles. Nice crack in the windshield, no rear defrost, broken driver side lock (botched breakin), and broken dash lights. Sweet Yakima rack on top though. My other car is an 04 Corolla with 40K miles on it, which I bought from a little old lady (really!).

04 Hyundai. - a car is a mere transportation necessity, not a luxury

2000 Altima. 98K miles no mechanical problems.
Beat the phuck up though on the driver's side (been hit so many times on that side. Never my fault 🙁). My wife said our 11 month old will never go inside of it (she hasn't to this point).

Gotta be a sleeper out there with an exotic ride. At the private hospital that I did my intern year at one guy had a daily driver Porsche 911 turbo and another had a weekend Ferrari

the most expensive car in THIS thread. there are lots of people who regularly post(ed?) on this board with more expensive cars, just check out a few of the older car/truck threads that involve Noyac, JetPropPilot, etc.The most expensive car on this thread belongs to a med student making no money?
Not me though, I've got a 2005 Honda CR-V with 90k miles on it for my wife and am leasing a 2009 Jetta (base model). both are fine, dependable cars, and will see me through until I buy a nicely kept 15 y/o 911 in a few years.
since other med students have posted... I'm rollin in a '96 Civic DX.. no expenses spared, crank windows and AM/FM Cassette with the only tape I own (Tupac's greatest hits) on constant rotation. 😀
haha, I've always been big into cars and motorcycles, but both my bikes ('87 KX125 and '77 KZ400 fully restored) are back in Tennessee. I live in a crappy apt with no way to keep them (people would steal them if I brought them out to CA). My first real car (outside a few that I got for basically free cause they weren't running, total beaters) was an '88 BMW 325i, and it was undoubtedly the best car I have or will ever own.. every day the only real materialistic thing I dream about when I get done with this is buying another 20 year old BMW. but alas things change, driving is no longer a pleasure, although sometimes I trick myself into enjoying the shift from 2nd to 3rd in my Civic, I know it's fleeting, FWD is inherently flawed, and the entire process of maintaining a quality car oneself and enjoying *driving* is something I just have to put off for a few more years.

2002 Silver Nissan Altima, inline-4 pumping 175HP. Rolling on 109,000 miles (drove it a lot, I know). Spacious, and comfy ride.
i was an RT before entering medical school. i was 24 and bought a brand new mercedes benz c230 kompressor. i am now a second year medical student with a kia soul.
it is the way of our new generation.
hey man, i sold a lot of drugs in college, can i live?
haha just playing, parents helped me with the down payment and the first 6 payments as a graduation gift from college, took a year off between med school and paid most of it off; and since i went to a caribbean school i loaned it to my brother who took over payments for the 2 years i was there. Saved a buttload and still have my whip.
Prior to medical school I worked at a pharmaceutical company and owned a 92 BMW 325i and traded that in for a 99 BMW 328i, both stick shift, and great for autocrossing. I started medical school and sold it, was carless for my first 2 years and in my 3rd year leased an 07 Subaru Legacy SE stick shift and ended up buying the car prior to residency. The all wheel drive is great and performance-wise quite similar to my old 3 series cars...but I'd still pick rear wheel drive for the fun factor. I can't wait for residency to be over and buy an m3.

At my daughter's school, some of the high school kids drive Range Rover Sports, M3s and RS4s. The world doesn't always make sense. I am in an '02 Lexus IS with 110k mi.

the tvr might not be street legal in the US. and i am not sure how much it would be to bring it over but the car itself isn't that expensive, under 50K pounds..

50k euro is about 70k usd. that's pretty expensive. that's lotus/911 territory. the tvr is pretty sweet though.
2007 Infiniti G35x AWD, wife has 2007 Subaru Outback sedan (last year they were made)
We are looking at minivans - hopefully the 2011 Toyota Sienna has AWD - our driveway is a hill.
When I was young, I dreamed about becoming a doctor and driving nice cars. What we have is nice, but a word to the wise - you have to live within your means.

Even better, live below them. (A little aphorism I learned this weekend.)

UNFORTUNATELY...most women do not understand this concept, not even close.
Pretty sweet rides! Soon as I graduate I'm gettin a magnum PI Ferrari! For now my dented ford pickup with cracked windshield, last washed in 2006 will have to do.
My dad had one of those when I was growing up, and another orthopaedist down the street had a black 308. I grew up thinking it was normal for people to have Ferraris until I went to college. Apparently, the 1984 version was overproduced, so they were relatively inexpensive back then. He promised that I'd have it when I turned 16, then he sold it when I was 12, so I've had a dream of getting a Ferrari at some point.
Anyway, I've got a 2005 Honda CR-V.
Monaco blue 2008 335i. Love this car. I'd love to trade up to a Cayman S, 911, or M5 one day, but it ain't good for your local rep with referring docs. You want to be the underdog as much as possible when you rely on the generosity of others for your patient base. Not many of the docs where I practice drive expensive (or just expensive looking) cars. It's probably a good thing I didn't spring for the M3. I may just go ahead with a stealthy application of the Dinan stage 3 mods though!
