I really need an honest opinion on my my chances to get into medical school. I haven't taken my MCAT yet but I will very soon. I'm not sure if my extracurricular activities are enough though...
So my stats are high for undergrad 3.86 cumulative, 3.88 science.

ECs are:
3 months working part time in a gastroenterology clinic for two summers
6 months of research at my university
Officer in an honor society
over 100 hours shadowing with a surgeon
publication on my clinical research that I did last summer
Organic Chemistry tutor hired by the university
about 70 hours volunteering at an elementary school
dean's list every quarter except my first quarter at university

Does it look like enough to get into the top 20????

Your chances very much rest on your MCAT. Your GPA is good, but your ECs are very cookie cutter. Top 20s are a crap shoot for anybody, but if you want to have a decent shot, you should aim for their average MCAT score (~35+).

Will your Leadership activity description suggest that you have the potential to be a future leader in medicine?

What will make you stand out? Any interesting hobbies, artistic involvement, sports?

How much more research will you get in before you apply (keeping in mind that research-orientation is a major part of what gives schools "Top Twenty" status.
