Seems like this will be a good week! Ha, I also got a U Wash rejection..could have saved that $11... :p

Anyone hear from Emory? They were one of the first to send an 'application review email'

Also other Midwest programs are pretty quiet as it seems from the most updated list...

A friend told me that she received a Dana Farber rejection a week or so back. Most people I'm talking to haven't received many interviews. The Midwest needs to pick up the pace!

We came in today waiting for about 100 programs. If interviews are sent until the first week of September, that means on average 5-6 interviews should be sent per day. 5 were posted to sdn today. So I think we are right on schedule. Hopefully we all get some good news soon. I wish I could create a custom gmail alert! I'm getting so excited with text messages from espn.

Edit:
Fwiw:

17 interviews posted in cardiology.
19 interviews posted GI.

Summary of the 2013-2014 interview thread:
-We appear to be right on pace with the thread last year, around ~40-45 interviews at this time
-Of note, around 42 programs were not posted to the thread last year
-We should expect to see a huge bump near the end of this week and the beginning of next week
-as you can, the list is not exhaustive or completely accurate given that these are SDN post. To the lurkers, please provide interview offers and date received to help other, you can PM me if you want. Thanks!
-I'll post this to the 2013-2014 thread for easier access

If Emory ends up sending a mass rejection email after all these useless acknowledgments, we should just bombard them with spam emails :)

Do programs generally send out interviews after the dates listed? Meaning do they send interviews out in batches? If so would a "2nd round" be considered inferior to getting a "1st round" interview?

I echo your question. Will there be a second round from programs that already sent out interviews to the cream of the crop ?

From what i understand , top tier programs usually send out one time invitations as they are assured most will attend. some mid tier programs send out invitations to more people than they can interview.... ( 60 invites for 3 spots) , then there is usually a scramble once there are cancellations. . these programs may send out a second round of invites. Low tier programs may randomly select people who they think will be interested and send out invitations in batches.. ( they prepare wait lists right after sending out the intial batch of interviews).

Many programs send interviews as they review. You might reviewed next week rather than this week. Expect waves of interviews, especially from mid tier programs. Mdacc can probably interview 20 for 15 spots if they wanted to lol

Rejection jackson memorial.. no interviews yet.

I have a feeling that this year is much more competitive than years past.

I have a feeling that this year is much more competitive than years past.

In Dukes waitlist/rejection letter, they said they received more applications than they have in the past. Maybe it is a competitive year or just more in house applicants. IM residency name plays a large role in all of this. I'm glad I'm not applying for GI :)

Northwestern Rejection.

Same here.
I wasn't expecting anything different. A super competitive program in Chicago with only 4 spots. What are the chances ?
I was also wondering about Duke's email. I think it's just a generic template they use every year. I wouldn't dig much into it.

There are still at least 5 programs in the Mid-west I'm desparetaly waiting for

Northwestern invite.

Got sent packing (rejection) by Northwestern and Jackson/Miami and the thank you from Emory. Looks like things are heating up.

I'm surprised we have not heard from UPMC or Minnesota? They seem to have sent early invites last year. Hopefully Mayo and CCF send out invitations soon...

They said my application was a " strong submission " LOL I am sure that's their blanket email.

Waitlisted from Northwestern ("excellent submission"). Sounds like most of you have heard a yes or no from Duke but I haven't heard anything. At the same time got invites from Hopkins, U of Washington and OSHU.

Congrats on the excellent interviews. My guess is that you are definitely waitlisted at Duke. I think you have a strong chance at landing the Northwestern interview once all the northeast and west coast invites go out.

7 interviews so far (need 15 based on previous match statistics for US-IMGs), all on the list already...but my LSU invite is the NOLA program...they have multiple.

Everything else is denial denials denials. My psyche can't take much more of it.
