This is so exciting. People are receiving their acceptances already. Good for you guys. It's well deserved.

I remember reading SDN yearrsssss back when I was a college freshman and I wanted to fast forward time already so I could eagerly post about my interview experiences or acceptance(s). Fast forward 5 years later and the time is here. Crazy. In a few short days we'll be posting (hopefully good news) about the biggest moments of our lives.

Accepted to Nova earlier today I live about two hours from Nova. My envelope had three pieces of paper, congratulating me and requesting a final transcript. I'm so happy and relieved . Dreams are coming true this week for many people!! I know it! good luck all!

I am truly happy for everyone that shared their acceptance to Nova. That said, I can't help but think some people getting notification of acceptance on 11-27 and the rest of us having to wait until 12-1 is BS! I wonder how the other schools feel about it.

I agree. I am nothing but happy for the people that got accepted but I do think it is super unprofessional of whomever makes that decision at NOVA.

I guess my question is why does that happen at all? They HAVE to know that people will be getting their letters early, which means they know they are being scummy. Its 2015, with 3 different ways of alerting students immediately and the day of, with very chance of breaking the rule, I just don't understand their logic.

End rant haha. I know I sound bitter but I don't think I would want any of my schools to 'cheat' like that. My roommate (who is also applying) agrees and decided to wait til Dec 1 to open her letter if she gets it early.

EDIT: Just wanted to clarify (without posting again) that I think nothing bad about NOVA itself. I have two friends that go there and LOVE it and it is one of my best friendss top schools. My guess is that there is one singular person that makes the decision to send out the letters early and I don't agree with them about that, but I would feel that way no matter the school.

Yeah i agree completely, i'd be really annoyed if one of the schools i interviewed at did that. Especially where I live our mail is so slow i wouldn't get it until like Dec 5th haha. They should email or something...

To be honest I really liked nova, and I did interview at Ohio state, nyu, and temple as well. And I have interviews at mwu-az, unlv, musc, and Pitt in the near future. I think it is all preference of what school each person likes, not that they are bad schools.

The only remotely competitive school you interviewed at was UNC, so I'm not sure where you got the impression you are a competitive applicant.

I encourage you to find more civil ways to disagree with people in the future.

I agree with other that we should keep it cordial. If one doesn't like a school, it is fine but let's not ruin it for those who are thrilled that they will be able to accomplish their life goal to be a dentist. We've all worked very hard to reach to this moment. It's not very nice to just blow someone else's balloon cause that school wasn't in your list of preferred schools.

I think we should all reserve our opinions about a school and just be happy for those who are getting their acceptances. Regardless if it's a few days earlier. Maybe they figured that with the holidays and all, USPS will be late. Maybe they still live in the 20th century and forgot there's email. Who cares! Acceptances are rolling and let's just pay attention to all means of communication and be happy for those getting the acceptances!!!
