I'm trying to be like Papi  . I have lots of good info on this school and I am very anxious to hear from them. So now for some juicy info:
Tonight is their 15th and last meeting to discuss recent interviews. Supposedly 2 or 3 from last Friday's session will be automatically accepted and may get a phone call.
Letters go out Thursday and Friday as a result of this meeting, probably notifying us of acceptances rather than alternate spots or rejections. The last interview bunch will not receive holds as the others have, because they are starting to make final decisions. They must offer at least 96 acceptances by March 29th.
In April more letters will go out and everyone will know something (acc, rej, alternate). Their alternate list is NOT ranked.
They have accepted 53 people, 47 of those have responded with a yes. They are looking to have 96 seats, 108 total with the other UF undergrad program. I looked at the list of accepted students. Roughly half are from FL undergrads, the rest (well mostly) are from Ivy and top notch schools.
Numbers: (see Tim I told you I'd write it up for you!)
Last year/This year:
amcas apps: 1953/1970
secondaries: 885/1035
Interviews: 419/300
Seats available: 96/96
Total Acceptances offered last year: 135
Last year's average stats: 3.66/29.81 mcat (I don't know if this means matriculating or accepted students, but those are the exact numbers they said
Rumors: My student host told me that each interviewer gives you a score of 1-5, 5 being the best. If you get two fives, then you will get accepted immediately (like the 53 people that are in now). Otherwise, EVERYONE else got put on hold. My host said that whoever gave you the higher score becomes your ONLY advocate at the adcoms meetings. So if you had one bad interview, according to this rumor, it won't matter. Also, I was told that the interview is weighed heavily and once you have one, you are pretty much on the same playing field as everyone else. (But that probably only applies to those accepted immediately, afterwards I'm sure they look at it all again).
So good luck everyone! Post any new info you hear from them!
