Accepted today via email! Very exciting for me as I was extremely impressed with the program, faculty, and students at their interview weekend.

Jon

Hi Jon! Congratulations! When was your interview? Were you confident that you would be accepted after the interview? How did you feel after the interview? Just curious. I am kind of ruminating after my own interview...Had it on Friday, Feb the 13th.

Minichka2004,
Where did you interview on Feb. 13th? That was the same day mine was. I did feel confident I guess, but I'm pretty modest so I wasn't sure/going to assume anything until I got word from the actual faculty. But yes I thought the interview went well but I thought all other applicants looked very solid and interviewed well too. So, it could have gone any way.

Oklahoma State. And you? I was exited and confident during the interview, but after it was over I started to analyze my answers and their questions/remarks. They still continue interviewing, the last interview day will be this Friday.... So I have enough time to climb the walls before I hear from them...😉

Good luck. I keep overanalyzing my answers, too, only I'm hearing back from the school I interviewed at tomorrow. Ahhhh!

Good luck for you too!!! :luck: So, you have a set date when you expect their feedback?

Yes, at the interview they told us they would contact us tomorrow night or Wednesday at the latest, no matter if we're in or not. Gahhhh, I'm nauseous just thinking about it.

And thanks! 😀

Waiting will be over and you will know the answer! Hopefully it will be a "YES" for you! Keep us posted!🙂

Cara Susanna, when did you have your interview? I mean, how long does it take them to take their decisions. And also I am curious how they do this: do the vote, discuss applicants, etc... No idea how the decisions are made.

I was accepted at Penn State and U Mass-Amherst. 🙂 I heard from both of them two days after their official interview weekends ended. I know that one of those schools made their decisions after holding a big meeting with faculty and students who had interviewed us, but that the final decision is up to the specific mentor. I know many schools take much longer to make their decisions.

One school I interviewed at is trying to work out funding and say it might take a while to make decisions (though for all I know they've made offers to other people).

Another school I interviewed at uses a formula in which certain faculty who currently have fewer students get to invite their first choices, and then if their first choices decline, other faculty get to invite their first choices.

However, it seems more common that a certain set of faculty are going to take students, and if their first choices decline, they offer spots to their high alternates and go down the list until someone accepts. High alternates might learn of their place on the waiting list at the same time that the first choices get their acceptances, or the faculty may wait a while to talk to the high alternates.

Does this jive with others' experiences so far?

I interviewed there on Friday, Feb 13. I know, it's extremely soon! Bless their hearts for not making us wait too long.

I actually asked this in the "Advice from Prof to Applicants" thread. I too am curious to know the process.

I got an email from the DCT at Fordham offering me admission!!!

Accepted to the clinical program via phone call from POI!!! 🙂

I got an acceptance e-mail from Fordham too. They like me, they really really like me!
Sniffle, Sniffle, I am overwhelmed with joy. 😍

Good luck all, I wish each of you the very best.

Me too!

Voice mail left by admissions on 2/11 offering acceptance to the Clinical Psychology PsyD program, Child and Adolescent Track. 😀

Out of curiousity, how long after you interviewed did you receive the call that you were accepted?

I was accepted into West Virginia Uni's clinical PhD program today!!😀

I was accepted to U of Minnesota on Feb. 5th (contacted by email)! That was probably the most exciting (relieving) moment I have experienced in years!

From my experiences different programs do different things...I know for a fact that one program made offers over the phone about 4 hours after the interviews were over.

Another program waited 3 weeks.

I think Ph.D. programs tend to be quicker than Psy.D. programs (even the small ones) in making offers after interviews, but that is just from my small sample of experiences.

Notified of acceptance today into the Texas A&M University Clinical PhD program!

I didn't apply here, but a friend of mine was offered admission into the Clinical PsyD.

(The Chicago School for Professional Psychology that is)

Hi, PsyDApplicant 08 🙂-

I heard back about two and a half weeks after I interviewed. I was told that it would take anywhere from 2-4 weeks at the most.

Good luck to you! :luck:

do you know how your friend heard from yeshiva-- phone, e-mail, or letter?

I just got a call from the DCT at Fairleigh Dickinson offering me a position in their clinical PhD program!

Has anyone heard anything about Louisville yet?

I'm dying to know too! I emailed the DCT yesterday and said they are still waiting on the graduate school's fellowship awards, and that sometimes they are quick, other years they are not so much. They are also behind a week due to their ice storm. I'm dying to know! Who did you interview for?

95% sure it was via email, but will be sure to let you know if it wasn't

oh also, she interviewed on 2/12
OK, thanks! i interviewed at yeshiva on 2/5, but haven't heard anything yet... when i called, they only said that people are still being interviewed.

Has anyone received and offer from University of Central Florida? I was under the impression we would hear this week and it's almost Friday!

Accepted to U of Kentucky a few days ago. It definitely takes the edge off the interviews.

Who will you be working with? I went to UK in the clinical psych program for awhile.

I got accepted too, and I found out Monday morning. Interviews were on Friday, and they told us we'd know by the beginning of this week. Another school I have an interview at has also mentioned it will make decisions immediately afterward. I think usually there's not much of a wait, unless there are multiple interview dates.

Who did YOU get accepted to work with there?

I was e-mailed regarding interviewing for a fellowship at a school that I interviewed at. They are covering the cost to fly me down and for a hotel room. I wasn't actually admitted into the program, but the POI has an opportunity to fund a graduate student through this program and thought that I was a good applicant. Has anyone heard of this before....? I am looking forward to it since the program is wonderful and a perfect match for me.

My POI responded to my thank you email yesterday evening and said they hadn't had their admission meeting yet but that he would let me know as soon as he knows.

:luck::xf::luck::xf:Good luck!

Invited to interview at CUNY GC's Developmental program, responded with available times and then was told....it will not be an interview (just kidding!) because they've decided to accept me! It is now scheduled as a time to get to know me and vice versa. I'll be going this Tuesday...Very excited! 😀

Thanks Aly Cat for the update! I was getting nervous!

I spoke with my POI this morning (ACCEPTED!!!) and was informed that the admission meeting was held this morning.

Best of luck!!

has anyone:
been accepted at UMD?
heard of someone accepted at UMD?
gone to an interview but gotten rejected at UMD?

It's past time they said they would get back to people....i want to know what's up in maryland!

Call from DCT yesterday! Yay!!
All the very best for eveyone who is waiting to hear 👍 .

Just got accepted to Texas Tech! I'm going to grad school! 😀

Accepted to Kent State's School Psych Doctoral Program via email from program coordinator. It was my top choice 😀

I have been offered admission to Texas Woman's and University of South Carolina. TX Woman's didn't have an interview, and their open house isn't until 3/6. I read on here the APA policy is if you have two offers you have to pick one immediately. So I can't wait until I go to the open house and learn about the program? B/c right now I don't know much about TX Woman's besides what's on the website.

Also about internship match rates, which source are you using for this? I see on the APPIC website they show match rates from 2000-2006. (I don't see any later for individual programs.) That is what I was initially using. But then when looking at programs' websites they seem to show better statistics (probably b/c they are more recent and probably also b/c they tend to show them in the best "light"). I also have APA's Graduate Study in Psychology from 2007 and the Insider's Guide 2008-2009 which list percentage of matches. Which source would you consider the best? Which are you using to help you make decisions?

Accepted to UCF, sort of? lol I know this is strange but the POI never actually said he accepted me in an email but that the department had nominated me for a fellowship. Am I correct in assuming this means I'm in?

Edited: Official acceptance email from the graduate studies department today, 2/23
