Why is this thread so empty 🙁. Anyways I will definitely be applying to UNMC, who else is in?

hahahha I guess someone had to take the first step. Anyways, when is the deadline for EDP?
 
Any interviews yet? I was preliminarily rejected on the 16th (OOS), appealed it the same day, and was rerejected on the 18th. However, I received an interview invite this morning? I'm a bit confused....

I also applied out of state.. was rejected right away.. just wondering.. How did you appeal? and congratulations on the invitation!!

I received an interview invite for October 4th!!!! But I have yet to take my MCAT still... is this normal? 😵
 
In state here. I applied via the EDP and I interview September 4. Anyone else planning on being in Omaha that day? I visited with the associate dean ( Dr. Hill) and he said OOS really have a disadvantage at UNMC unless you went to a school in Nebraska. Good luck to everyone applying.

I'm interviewing on the 6th of September. I thought both EDP interviews were on Fridays. Anyways I may see you in September. Best of luck to you!

Hello all!

Does anyone know if UNMC offers interview invites to all in-state applicants? Anyone have any statistics for number interviewed versus number accepted?

Hello! For those who have gotten a secondary, is there a place to put affiliations your relatives might have to the school? My dad used to work there and I'm hoping this will maybe put me in better light than a typical OOS.
 
Does anyone know if the ad. committee discusses every EDP applicant and then sends all the letters out at once, or do they let the applicants know as soon as their status has been determined?

I just received my acceptance today in the mail for EDP! So I assume they sent them all out. Good Luck to everyone!
 
Congrats. I was also accepted through the EDP. My letter accidently got sent to my parents' house. Had me worried for awhile.

I would say definitely make sure that you try to show them how you have ties to Nebraska. That is a major thing they want to have people that have a high likely hood of staying in Nebraska. Other than that is a pretty laid back conversation, they are just trying to get a feel for the kind of person you are.
 
I applied pretty late, but I am reeeeeally hoping I get accepted here. This is where my sister was treated and I am in state so I am hoping my ties to the school and my good gpa will make up for my subpar mcat and late application. Fingers crossed!

At my interview, they told me that the first round of decisions would go out mid-December.

Nothing yet. It should be any day now.

According to the old UNMC threads:
Last year, the first round of acceptances were received via snail mail on 12/20.
The year before that, the first round of acceptances were received via snail mail on 12/15.
 
No activity at my mailbox either! Perhaps the people receiving them are too busy celebrating to post about it on SDN?
 
I too have been obsessively checking the mailbox. Nothing but an ad for cable service today. 🙁
 
I got the big envelope from UNMC in the mail on Christmas Eve!
I am accepted!
Best Christmas Present EVER!

Acceptances should start flying out the door now!
I hope all my fellow SDNers got good news/get good news in the near future.
