If the school is so unknown that nobody posts a comment about it - that might tell you something.................

Actually the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredit the school. “Andrew Taylor Still established ATSU's founding college, KCOM, over 110 years ago. With the addition of three new schools in the last decade, ATSU remains a leader in comprehensive medical education, research, and healthcare throughout the world.” So, the international School of Health Management (SHM) is not unknown school. I just wanted to get feedback from you guys about this school that is all 😎

Don't confuse accreditation as an institute of higher learning with schools of public health or graduate public health programs accredited by the APHA Council on Education for Public Health. That list can be found here. See: http://www.apha.org/public_health/ceph.pdf and their website here. See: www.ceph.org I am not sure, but I would assume that the lack of AT Still University's accreditation could call the degree into question. I know that those MDs wishing to get an exemption from the MPH requirement in a preventitive medicine fellowship must demonstrate an MPH from an accredited institution.

Thx man I will probably call off from this school. Something is not right 🙄 :scared:

I'm a DO (internal medicine resident) and about a year ago I started looking into MPH that were realistic for me to complete while I was a resident. All of the programs I looked at were accredited universities, but not all were CEPH accredited. I did some research and found that about 40% of the schools that offer an MPH degree don't carry (or seek) CEPH accreditation. I talked with the program directors at these institutes and they offered different reasons for not carrying accreditation (e.g., CEPH isn't quite up-to-date when it comes to online learning -- they prefer students study on campus). All of the program directors gave me contacts of people with MPH degrees from their institutions who are working in different public health departments.

CEPH accreditation probably comes into play when you want to work for the CDC, etc. but for me, I will always have my medical degree which will be my primary means of practice. The MPH, with an administrative focus, will allow me to pursue other options in public health which might not have been open to me otherwise.

So anyways, ATSU was the only school that offered what I was looking for: an MPH with an administrative focus with no residency requirements (meaning that I don't have to attend classes on campus). I'm already working 80 hours per week and I'm on call constantly, so on-campus courses is not an option. And I love that ATSU is, basically, the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine -- a school with a great reputation. I'm getting the same degree they offer their DO/MPH students.

Thus far, I've been very, very happy with ATSU and I would do it all over again. If I can help you out any more in your decision making, feel free to drop me a line.
