Reasons Obama won
-Better organised campaign both in strategy and personnel.
-The most negative campaign in the history of the western world run by Obama.
-Changing demographics which the GOP chose to ignore. No Hispanics, no presidency! The math is pretty clear now. Time to swallow our pride and make a play for the hispanic vote. All that stupid crap about "self deportation", "putting mines at the border" sounds great at the GOP primaries, but it is a recipee for disaster at the general elections, and it's about to get worse.
-Women votes, thanks to Limbaugh and the Tea party superstars-Todd Akin, Richard Mourdoch, etc.
-Romney's poor discipline early in the campaign. "Let Detroit go bankrupt" had no political upside when he said it, and it effectively tossed MI and OH in the trash. Sometimes it is safer to shut up.
-Extreme right wing shaping GOP primaries.
-Foxnews complete waste of airtime on BS like Benghazi and Karl Rove instead of hammering away on the economy argument.
-Karl Rove's antiquated comprehension of the U.S electorate. He spent 300 million on multiple races and lost ALL.
-FL, OH, PA secretaries of state making "voter suppression" news. As we now know, it would have served them better if they just let Obama's voters' low enthusiasm cut his numbers down, rather than fire them up with nonsense laws. Some of them are still standing in line to vote in FL as we speak.
-Hurricane Sandy.
As a moderate republican, I am just as pissed at my party as I am at the 50% who chose Obama. Reality for the GOP however is: if we can't beat a president with <50% approval, unemployment at almost 8%, and 1 billion dollars worth of campaigning, then we must have a huge structural problem beginning to manifest and we need to nip it in the bud before we go extinct.
