I have 2 days left until I take my USMLE on 6/13/13. I've read FA, finished Uworld and received over a 255 on the UWSA2. UWSA2 shows my weakness to be Endo/repro and biochem. I plan to re-read those sections in FA today (6/11/13).

My question is should I take an NBME today/tomorrow or would just focusing on those weak points in FA be more valuable?

Goal: 250+

Thanks in advance for any advice!

NBME is risky, only because you don't want to psych yourself out if you don't do well. I think looking over some stuff you might be weak in would be more helpful - maybe listening to some pathoma passively to refresh the concepts. Besides that, the majority of people say you're better off having a relaxing day off before the exam than you are pressing to learn new things

Make some kinda sheet that has all of the things that you tend to forget or get confused by written out on it. Write it down over and over until you have it memorized. When you get into the test re-create this sheet on the scrap paper/white board they give you... bam... now you have a ready reference for some of your most difficult areas.

I'm in almost the exact same situation, down to the score, except I *did* freak myself out with the NBME last night (dropped a couple points, which was demoralizing). Same main weakness even -- endo/repro.

I'm going through all of FA/Pathoma (starting with the weakest chapters), and flashcarding the daylights out of everything I have trouble with or tend to forget. I think I should be able to get that all done by Thursday, then it's game on.

You are going all the way through FA/Pathoma in 2 days?

Yessir. Granted, it's a 2nd read-through of FA, and probably at least a 3rd (or more) for most of the Pathoma chapters.

I blocked out about 1-1.5hrs per chapter across today and tomorrow, and I'm buzzing through Pathoma to see if there's anything pertinent to add to FA, then reading through the same chapter of FA and making flashcards for anything I am having trouble remembering. It's going to take me until mid-afternoon tomorrow, but I've always worked best when I'm under the gun and the exam is drawing near! 👍

Well then, you've inspired me to attempt to make another pass through FA as well! Maybe I'll hit pathoma for a few of my weak spots, but there is no way I could do 32 hours of video in 2 days (If I speed it up I learn a LOT less).

Oh yeah, I'm definitely not watching the videos again this time -- I'm just reading the annotations that I made when I watched them all during the school year.

Good luck tomorrow!
