Dont rule out the possibility of transferring after a year. Contact the Chairman of CO directly and explain your situation. If I remember correctly your SO is in the military near CO. I wouldnt rule out using direct pressure from politicians to open something up. In fact, a call from a general and a senator would likely cause most pathologists to check their underwear...even C Fletcher I bet.

PS- Is your husband an officer? What service? Even the mere threat of having to explain the resident selection process before a Senate subcomittee would likely cause Colorado to collectively piss themselves.

(I don't get it though. What's the point of posting a rank list but not a match result? Is it to help determine rank list order? Or is it the same old issue of anonymity?)

For Pathology? There was a time when people didn't bother listing that many programs on their ROLs because it was "easy" to get in. But I didn't feel comfortable without ten on my list this year. I'm very curious to see which direction Path is trending now, in terms of competitiveness.

Me too. One of the admissions committee members here said this year was very competitive, and will be interested to see if it continues next year. The last few years have shown a steady increase and whether it is going to level off or keep going I am not sure. I can't imagine it continuing to increase that much though - there are still too many med students who would never ever consider it as a career for various reasons.
