Andy, WHY would there be a thread on the match in pre-allo? Think about it.AndyMilonakis said:There's a thread on Pre-Allo or Allo.
There is also a sticky on the General Residency forum.
There is also a thread in the MD/PhD forum.
You want some Deschutes pics for your avatar? There is alot of stuff named Deschutes near my work.deschutes said:Having said that, I bet if I google "deschutes what do you look like", I'd turn my own picture up.
The deschutes part is not hard. The hard part is finding the 100x100 pixels.bananaface said:You want some Deschutes pics for your avatar? There is alot of stuff named Deschutes near my work.
You can shrink them.deschutes said:The deschutes part is not hard. The hard part is finding the 100x100 pixels.
I thought about this too. And then I decided my PD is too busy and too cool to care 🙂jeff2005 said:Should I be paranoid about revealing who I am? Is my PD going to take me aside and say,"You are embarrasing this institution..."
Well because the premeds are all uppity about going to a premier name institution so that they can slack in med school but still be entitled to the residency of their dreams.bananaface said:Andy, WHY would there be a thread on the match in pre-allo? Think about it.![]()
That has what to do w/ match day threads?AndyMilonakis said:Well because the premeds are all uppity about going to a premier name institution so that they can slack in med school but still be entitled to the residency of their dreams.
Cuz match day threads tell people where med students at certain med schools match at. I suppose premeds would think more highly of med schools where all the graduates matched at cream of the crop name residency programs.bananaface said:That has what to do w/ match day threads?
I heard of the match in college. I thought it was some dating game in med school.beary said:When I was in college I had never even heard of the match. Seriously.
Oooh. 5 of your former classmates are moving to Seattle. Are any of them eligible bachelors?AndyMilonakis said:I heard of the match in college. I thought it was some dating game in med school.
No clue. I don't know these people. My real classmates graduated & matched 3 years ago.bananaface said:Oooh. 5 of your former classmates are moving to Seattle. Are any of them eligible bachelors?![]()

Not to criticize jeff2005's spelling or anything - I think she did an awesome job compiling all that info in one place!
Yeah...it looks like CC, Emory, and UCSF are the popular choices here this year. 🙂jeff2005 said:I like the list organized by institution better. Then you can see who's going to be at the same place. We've got 3 for Cleveland Clinic. I'm still all alone at Iowa. 👎

was the person's SDN handle Lame-O?yaah said:I am all alone too. I think one of the people who matched here is a lurker but I am not sure. I know who they all are though...(proper use of ellipse?)
Great ellipses - just bully!yaah said:I am all alone too. I think one of the people who matched here is a lurker but I am not sure. I know who they all are though...(proper use of ellipse?)

Wow. We had 9 or 10 med4s at my school going into path. Although some ended up at the same place, most were focused on going to different institutions, fortunately.AndyMilonakis said:I expected to see more Penn matches on this list. I thought there were at least several Penn MSTPs cruising around on SDN path. And according to the MSTP match thread in the MSTP forum, there are 4 Penn MSTP's that matched at Penn. On that note, I'm curious as to how many of the 10 slots at Penn were filled by Penn grads cuz apparently there were like 7 r 8 Penn seniors all applying to Path this year.

He is this old world kinda of dude who somehow bought a 911 porsche with a resident's salary, suspicious for damn sure. Hold it, now that I think about he must know Jill too.![]()

good stuff man. congrats on your match at Penn. i'm sure residency will be even that much better since you know almost half of your classmates pretty well already.EvilTaz said:I am one of those Penn MSTP folk (and I did list that I am staying at Penn). There are four MD/PhD's who are staying from Penn. The other six residents who matched at Penn are not from Penn med school. It seems that initially there were 8-10 Penn people applying for pathology this year, but two or three decided to work in a lab/get a job for a year or two before joining, one isn't doing a residency at all anymore, one decided on radiology instead.
yep and if you try really hard, you can figure who some folks are here...well not always, but you can sure narrow things down.yaah said:I have been looking at the match lists in the general residency forum and there are some schools that have lots of seniors going into path, but a lot have none. Of course, I am never sure if when people post match lists they just leave out the pathologists because they figure no one cares and they just want to see how many ophtho and derm matches there are so they can "grade" the schools based on match list ("grade" being computed with # of derm + # of ortho + # of rads at a "top 10" school + # ENT + # neurosurg + # surg and/or medicine at a "top 10" or California school.)They are all such sheep.
I guess I should be make the most of the fact that this practice of publishing Match Lists stops short of the 49th Parallel. Thus I can continue to make a complete ass of myself here 😎AndyMilonakis said:yep and if you try really hard, you can figure who some folks are here...well not always, but you can sure narrow things down.
**** anonymity anyway, i say.
yeah but people now know what you look like. so when you make a complete ass of yourself, they will associate your behavior with your face.deschutes said:I guess I should be make the most of the fact that this practice of publishing Match Lists stops short of the 49th Parallel.
