Yeah, looks like the situation is about the same for us in-staters as well!

Hope I get a secondary then...
 
Last we heard someone talked to the admissions office and they said that secondaries would be going out that week (2 weeks ago) starting with EDP. HAs anyone gotten anything?

I got my secondary yesterday. The essay is really easy if yall are curious. You get to choose between 2 prompts.

I. Among other qualities, we seek candidates who bring commitment, initiative, and independence to their volunteer activities, research projects, and/or health-related employment. Please describe an activity in which you have participated that exemplifies these qualities, as they relate to medicine. (If you need more space please add additional pages.)

II. Please list five qualities that you possess that are important for an interviewer to know about you.

Oh, and the admin office told me not to do both... so it really is that easy. 😀

I submitted a secondary electronically several weeks ago to Wake. I know that they have my application fee payment by now and that LORs have been sent, but I have received nothing from them to indicate that my application is officially complete. Is there anyone out there that has received an application complete notice from Wake or been given any indication when interview invitations will beging to flow?
 
you better call them. I got an application complete email on 8/8, but they haven't started interviewing yet.

Someone I know who went to Wake undergrad with says they got an interview invite for September 27th Tuesday... I find it surprising because he didnt get an interview last yr and he apparenlty got the first spot this yr. But who knows....

TLcoolJack, I applied regular admission and was complete on 7/26.
 
Wake interview 9-30. I called them.

I talked to UNC today and they are only sending out EDP stuff currently. Lisa said the first regular invites should go out next week.

I scheduled an interview for that Friday. They start on Monday the 20whatever. Monday was full, I picked Friday. Go to an interview and go out afterwards, ya know? I think they said that Monday was full. And they had'nt sent notification to anyone. I just happened to get them on the phone at the right time, I guess.
 
I applied regular admission to ECU: I didn't apply early decision anywhere, so all my secondaries/interviews will be for regular admission, if that helps! I'm also an Aug MCATer (retaker), so I didn't expect too many interviews until after October.

Congrats on the Wake interview, registered user!

Hey guys, I figured I'd jump on this thread to see if any of y'all are going to interview at Wake on Monday, Oct 3. WholeLottaGame is also scheduled for the same day. They haven't started sending out notices, but give the office a call because they're more than happy to schedule you over the phone. Good luck to everyone 🙂

Did you get UNC secondary.....I couldn't figure out if you were replying to someone or telling about your own secondary........

What I meant earlier was that UNC will "most probably" send out secondaries to regular pool once they are done with EDP people........should be around mid september or late september.

Good Luck and prepare well,.......... you know you can do it ......show they you got it in you girl ...........

No, no sec from UNC yet. But I'm patiently waiting. I learned that much from last year, anyway!

Yeah, I heard from Super that she was gonna be gone for a week. I hope she can catch up. If she needs anything tell her to let me know and I'll do what I can.

I'll let you know about the interview next week. I'm excited about it!

It was nice this morning, but it's gotten hot this afternoon.

It's been down in the mid fifties at night here in the mountains. I'm ready for fall!

I hope so too, Bust! I'll be happy with a 27 or higher. I had a bad dream last night where I got my scores: 9V, 9B, 6 P! Very sad, 24.

Very nice analogy, by the way. The only problem is that I don't speak in terms of liters, but in cubic inches. But I got the gpa reference loud and clear!

Reapplicants shouldn't be treated so sternly. We know we have weaknesses, and we are dedicated to trying to fix them.

I'm rooting for ya! I'll be at the finish line!

Congrats on the interview. I think some of the other people you know may not be interviewing with you, because they are regular admissions applicants vs. early decision. But I'm sure you'll meet some interesting people and have a good interview day. Just keep your chin up. 🙂

Oh and on a side note.........My bro used to do aikido. He does Shuri Hari Karate (an okinawan form of Karate) and also Jujitsu. Prior to Jujitsu, he was doing Aikido, but the dojo was toooooo far for him to travel regularly, which is why he stopped. That's cool to see you did the same sort of martial arts he used to do.

Good luck on the interview and stay focused and calm. Try not to get nervous, and look over the interview feedback and other resources for interview advice. But again......:luck: :luck:

Oh, and that is cool about your bro practicing aikido. I enjoy it a lot, and I used to practice jujitsu as well, but I think it is a little bit too violent for me... Aikido is better for pure defense without injuring your opponent 😀

I'm feeling kind of dumb for rescheduling, though. . .

Definetly a race... which I guess you won this time 😛

Perhaps I will be the first to get in since I should hear an answer around the beginning of October... but I'm too superstitious to really put too much faith in that at this point. :scared:

But I wouldnt worry too much about rescheduling. I had to drive through a hurricane one time and I will tell you this... it is not a fond memory of mine. 👎
 
My kids will be applying to medical school before UNC starts sending out secondaries to normal applicants....

Last year I got my UNC secondary at the end of November. But I was a first-time August MCATer. Give it time, it will come.
