Alright, I swear that I'm not trying to drive this thread back into a political quagmire, but I'm honestly curious why this is such an issue for everyone who has posted so far on this topic. [Brief disclaimer: I am not trying to be a troll, nor make anyone feel like they can't post on whatever interests them in relation to VCU.] All disclaimers aside, I really don't understand why this matters. If you go to a school where lots of people (including faculty) disagree with you, doesn't that make your experience that much richer? Isn't it true that intellectual diversity makes academics so exciting and rewarding? And if you're intending to go into a very political field of medicine, wouldn't it in the end be more satisfying to go to a school where you get experience educating others about your ideas and defending your ideas to others?
I have no desire to start a flame war, nor make anyone feel that they shouldn't post with any question they have relating to VCU, but I just don't understand why a liberal has to go to a liberal school and a conservative has to go to a conservative school. Being a subscriber of a less than common political philosophy, I've gone through my entire educational career interacting with people who don't agree with me, and I love the debates that I wander into because of it.
Three cheers for Rodney the Ram and long live MCV.
