Congratulations on your acceptance. I thought that UCI was your first choice, any news on that waitlist? Congratulations to the group on page 100 and now going for 117....

Heard back from Dr. H. I am pretty far down on the waitlist, and if I will hear anything, it will be late summer. I don't know what late summer is, but I gotta think it is late July.

I just wanna be a doctor!

Thank you. UCI is indeed my first choice, but I haven't heard anything yet, and I doubt I will until close to June. I did really like VCU when I visited, so this is nice; the only issue is the tuition and the fact that my fiancee's family, job, and school are all in Southern CA.

I dont understand..the response I got from Dr. H about week and half ago was something like "Its very hard to tell, you have to wait and see.." I took this as a warning that I was very far down on the list but apparently she is letting some applicants (like Nas) know their relative place, even it if it is low on the list...am I so far down that I dont even warrant this? And Nas i share your agony ...are u also waiting on EVMS? ...and Congrats Pseudoknot!!

I was wondering this too (I got a similar message to yours, Vizsla). Perhaps they have a better idea now with withdrawals or lack there of?

And sorry to hear that, Nas. But she didn't say they definitely wouldn't get to you either, right? So there must still be some hope.

Got accepted to VCU today! The e-mail came at 8:49pm my time (central)...It's bittersweet becuase I dread leaving my family, friends, and boyfriend...but I will go unless I get accepted to an IL school (except SIU).

I got the same type of response. Just, that people with my priority score would find out late summer, if there is a good turnaround.

I just think this means late July/Early August, if there is a lot of waitlist movement.

Wow. Congrats! What a difference a day makes! 🙂

congrats, clindor. it's just hard for me to see all these OOS'ers getting in while i'm losing my mind sitting on the IS list. guys, how are ya'll wording your emails to Dr. H? I just think it's time I found out some more info. also, anyone gotten in off the IS list? good luck to you all.

Thanks for the congrats...I hope you guys will be joining me, and soon!

Yeah, I got the same response about 2 wks ago. I took it as a "definately not tomorrow, but you're also not on the bottom of the list". I'm confused.

Vis, I got the same message. Kinda sucks doesn't it! I just don't want to sit and wait til August just to be rejected. It would have been better to know in March with Jbone and the others. 👎

softy :meanie:
I've got a plama G. for your ace!

My husband is thinking of sending an e-mail as well so get a gauge as to where we are on the list. Any suggestions on how to word the e-mail would be appreciated. Congrats on another OOS to get an acceptance! I guess it must be automated based on the times that folks are getting the e-mails? Maybe it is just programmed so that when one student declines the offer the system sends to the next on the list?

jbone, i love you too. I say we all still storm Vermont next winter. then we'll take in some skiing.

Hey Chicklett, I know that you withdrew from Drexel. Are you going VCU, or still trying to decide between UVM or VCU?

honestly the more I think about it i cannot come up with a single reason why VCU wont let us know our place on the list....some schools try to tell applicants their list isnt ranked (which of course is BS) but with VCU we actually know that each of us has received a ranking...i just dont understand it bc VCU seems so forthcoming in every other aspect of its admissions policies. perhaps they feel that if we knew our ranking was really low on the list, we would withdraw and they might run the risk of not filling their class? who knows...I think every school should be required to have a ranked waitlist and inform students of their place, its a simple courtesy to applicants who have sacrificed their time, money, sanity...

congrats Clindor!! are u waitlisted at the IL schools or are you waiting to hear back after ur interviews?

Yeah, I'm waitlisted at SIU, UIC, Loyola, Texas A&M, and UT Houston

Honestly, I'm freaking out about the decision. I'm about 70% sure I'll go to VCU, but I haven't gotten my financial aid award from UVM yet, so I'm waiting to see what it looks like before I make my final decision. I checked with their office, and it's in the mail!

Congrats Clindor. One day we all hope to be in your shoes

One life, one love, so there can only be one king.

congrats to those accepted! (clindor and pseudoknot)....hopefully the list is starting to pick up some momentum.

also way to make it to page 100 guys! :hardy: may it bring good luck to all of us who worked so hard to make it there

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I withdrew my acceptance last night. It was a tough decision - especially having to turn down in-state tuition to pay double at a private school!

Good luck to all of you! 🙂

Thanks so much for the in-state withdraw, danimals! I hope you enjoy whatever school you'll be attending instead.

thanks danimals! come on all you other IS folks with an acceptance...you know you want to pay more too! j/k. anyways, thanks again and hopefully someone deserving from our little community here will get your spot. keeping my fingers crossed!

Congrats to all who just got accepted

Hopefully the waitlist (especially the OOS) will start moving faster as we appraoch May 15th. I was tempted to send an email also but I figured I'd just wait till after next week and if nothing then send it.

Hope is still alive guys - even till 2 days before school starts

"getting"?

Personally, the waiting has been in my head for quite sometime now.

well yes, that's true. anyways, new avatar! it's a beer here in SC dedicated to us mountain bikers. best beer in the world.

Well good people, I have withdrawn my (in-state) acceptance from VCU. Here's hoping that someone here will receive it! 🙂

BTW, you all are right -- VCU is a great school. This was a really, REALLY tough choice for me, and although I believe I made the right decision, I'm still a little sad not to be headed to Richmond.

did u decide on gtown blee? good luck with everything :luck:

Does anyone know how full the class is at this point? I am guessing that they are almost complete, especially since it is almost May 15.

How bittersweet. I can't help but hope that I'll get your in-state spot, blee, but I'm dissapointed to hear that if I get in you won't be there next year.

It's been great having you on the thread, and best of luck to you at Georgetown. Make it great. :luck:

Their class is always full. Since March 21, it's been kept at 184 or so and as people drop, seats become available for waitlisters. I believe it's the only school in the country with this process. Usually they accept just under 400 applicants, half of which attend so just because the class is full, it doesn't mean that its makeup won't change.

Actually they're not; I know at least one of the other schools where I interviewed has this policy.

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how long ya'll are planning on waiting before re-applying. I was thinking June 15 if I don't hear anything from VCU by then.

Freaking VCU and their slow waitlists!

Hey there friends! Hang in there. Just a few days until there should be some movement on the waitlist. Good luck! :luck:

Hey, funny... CF!! You and I had the same idea. I was jogging over to VCU Central to give warm weekend wishes before the big day. Monday will be when all the lightweights *have* to get the heck out.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU WAITLISTERS, HOPERS, AND DREAMERS! :luck:

Hey Apparition... I was going to PM you the info (so as not to clog up VCU with extraneous info... yeah, nobody here has ever done that... ) but your PM box is full.

It's a lame story anyway. 😳
