I searched and didn't find my question asked before.

Anyways, for the TUCOM-NY secondary, it says no more than 2 pages, does anyone know if that is single spaced or double spaced?

Brian

has any one received UNECOM and OhioUCOM secondaries?

also if our file was complete by the end of september at most schools do you think that is late?

i got UNECOM and OUCOM .. beware of Ohio if youre an out of stater.

Secondary essays are typically written single-spaced.

i guess i'm the only one having this problem...haha

I may be going about it all wrong, but I plan on kind of making those essays (KCUMB) more directed toward that school and why that school as well as maybe some important things from my personal statement. More importantly, I plan on adding things I didn't have space for in the PS.

does KCUMB have a cutoff for GPA or MCAT before they send secondaries? I was wondering if anyone knew more specifics on their criteria

Does anyone know if the MSUCOM requires LORs by the application submission due date ?

Do you guys submitt photos to all of the schools that request them, even though it's optional?

No. I forgot CCOMs. Im just glad it was optional.

Do any D.O. schools require it?

does anyone know if PCOM wants an essay when they ask "what healthcare experiences have you had?" or do they just want them listed?

i just listed them...i hope it will be ok.

I called them last week and asked the same question. The lady told me that they know how hard it is for the evaluators to send in stuff by due date and that it is okay for the letters to arrive a little late.

I asked them a while ago and they said it is up to the applicant. You can list them or write it out.

List it is then!!! ha ha ha I'm so sick and tired of writing essays and I've only just begun.

Towards the end, you sort of just cut and paste and merge them together. It gets easier.

I'm kinda creeped out that My post was number 666. I'm so screwed this cycle!!!!

does anyone know if MSU accept a lot of out of state applicants? Are they harder on OOS?

No. They do not. They only accept a handful of out-of-staters.

Yes, I believe so, cause in the email it mentions all material in by the due date. If you need an extension send them an email and I'm sure they will grant it. MSUCOM was a pain to finish. Good luck!

I asked them the same question when I filled out the application. Admissions said they prefer an essay, but will except either.

MSUCOM emphasizes that they want our letter recommender to be someone we really know well even if it's not professors and doctors...but do you think it's a good idea to ask a family friend? or is it implicit that the admissions want a science and DO letter?

I asked a family friend and a D.O. I shadowed.

I think a family friend is really good for this type of evaluation, but try to show a different connection to the person (ie did some work, volunteer, or something along those lines). I just don't want them to assume the evaluation is biased towards you. good luck!

I have finally heard from LECOM Erie. I guess they are starting to review the files. I am now complete there(officially). I sent all of my stuff early july, either they were extremely backed up or they don't like me.

I doubt that is the case, I'm sure they like you. I just received and email saying they haven't received my DO letter, which I sent early last week. I'll bet they are just backed up. 😉

i also got an email about my file being complete but that they require a signed lor from a DO and mine supposedly wasn't signed (apparently only LECOM sees it being a problem...i got emails from DMU and CCOM that my file is under review and there was no mention about the sig missing or anything like that)....aaaargggggggghhhhhhhh....i emailed interfolio to double check the signature issue and if there is a problem (i haven't heard back from interfolio yet) then i will probobly have to bother my DO again and do the whole interfolio lor upload all over...waste more $$$ to update all schools (just incase)...it's just fantastic😎 🙁

has anyone gotten a secondary from NYCOM yet? it's the only osteopathic app i haven't received yet.

Yeah ihate it when that happens

I'm at the stage where my AACOMAS has just sent my application out to schools.... am I wayyyy too late in the cycle??

I just feel so behind since everyone has already gotten and completed so many of their secondaries..

No, you are early in my opinion.

Does KCUMB screen their applicants?

also, can you put scholarships you had in college as awards and honors? I was thinking that it was ok but I want your opinion. thanks

JUST GOT A LETTER FROM NYCOM.... it was pretty light so i thought it might be a rejection but it basically just said they recieved my primary and don't start reviewing applications until october and interviews in november.

Does anyone have any idea when VCOM will start sending out interview invitations? I know that I could just call them and find out, but I wanted to check with u guys first.

I don't know, I got an email saying I was complete on Monday. When were you complete? VCOM is one of my top choices.

I was complete on 8/2/07. VCOM is one of my top choices also.

I put my scholarships down even though I felt kind of dumb doing so.

Your all good! As long as you have your file complete by November, you will be fine. I think if you interview by December or January you have a good chance. I'm pretty sure I remember admissions saying the class starts to fill up in Feb. with about 20-40 spots left and that is not even counting waitlists. Just remember to take these numbers with a grain of salt, since I am not an ADCOM. My only advice is dish out those secondaries like crazy once you get them. Good luck to you:luck::luck:

That's lame! Anyhew, they didn't mention a sig problem with my letter, they've just said they didn't receive it. Since it is only LECOM that has the problem, maybe you could have your DO contact them directly instead of going through all that hassle with interfolio. Best of luck:luck::luck:

I emailed all the schools with the question about missing sig...they all said they don't really care since the LOR is on the original letterhead and has all info and was sent in through interfolio as a confidential document...so apparently it's just LECOM having a problem. If anything I will probobly ask my DO to resent the lor just to them.
For now i am just extremly happy with the WVSOM...and it kinda makes me a little less stressed out about missing signature😀

I'm sure it will all turn out fine. Congrats on your interview at West Virginia! I'll bet you do great!😀

I'm kind of confused about UMDNJ-SOM. Do they screen before sending out a secondary? I know its available online but I don't want to send it in if they only send it out to select applicants. What's the deal? 😕

Yea and what about OSU-COM? I saw that they require a 21 MCAT so do they send secondaries only after your scores come in?

Just ask your DO to send it directly to LECOM!

No, my understanding is that they send a secondary application to everyone who applies. However, some applicants may receive a pre-secondary interview.

Hey Spiced, based on the communications I receive from KCUMB, I read that they actually do screen applicants for secondaries? After the secondary (which alludes to a screening process and the subsequent forwarding of the secondary URL) you'll get another letter via snail mail regarding your status - at least I did late last cycle. The letter regarding "qualified status" states that this letter confirms meeting or exceeding the "minimum requirements for admission". Well, I know I read it but now I can't find it in the secondary right this moment... :hardy:

my MCAT is on the low side "for now" do you know what the cutoff is for KCUMB's MCAT?
